The Old Crow Medicine Show are a bluegrass/hillbilly/country/etc. band that I saw briefly at the Cambridge Folk Festival back in the Summer and that my then-boss (who I'd dragged along for the sake of his mental health) thought rocked.And lo, they rocked this time too. A bit of Bob Dylan, some Leadbelly, and a lot of their own material that got the 200-head venue (the Borderline) kickin' and whoopin' and hollerin' (or maybe that was the alcohol). A good gig - and a nice contrast to The Faint who I'm seeing next week just up the road.Random aside: halfway through the set I remembered that as a kid I used to win prizes as part of a country dancing troupe. There's something few of you would have suspected. | | | | | | | | mood | peaceful | | | | | | | | [ add comment ] | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 09:55 | | | | | | | | Conversational Zen (from a colleague):"I have to watch what I say today...I'm meeting up with my friend who's a proofreader." | | | | | | | | mood | amused | | | | | | | | [ add comment ] | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | [ top of page | prev day | next day | LiveJournal.com ] | | | | |
