The windsock's crossbrace snapping at the weld just confirmed what we already knew: it was simply too windy at EARS for anything but the most determined launches. Still, we picked up more pieces for our rockets and retired early to Cath and hatter's to do some more work.
So far, I've got all of the phenolic tube that makes up the body fibre-glassed for strength, the fins cut, the coupler tube cum avionics bay epoxied to the central body section and the bulkheads prepared. Nose cone in place, it's 6'4" tall and probably a tad ambitious for a first design and build-from-scratch but hey, why start small?
I've decided to name it Eric and, currently, it's going to be purple.
