Tribute [12 Aug 2002|04:45am]
[ **mood** | sleepy ] Ahhh How I long to go to the Layne Tribute in Seattle. Seeing as its 10 days away I won't be going, probably not even to the tribute thats only like 6 hours from here, so I must think of a way to honor Layne on my own without being some sort of freak...........

i was wondering what made grunge stand out so much from today's "rock" and "nu-metal," other than the fact that it was awesome. although all grunge bands were in the same categorie, they each had their own sound. and all of the singers were unique. today, all singers sing the same way. they figure if dumb people like the way one person sings, then they should sing that way too. that just pisses me off. of course this is just my opinion, but i truely do believe it. grunge rock wasn't always made to please people. it's what the singers and musicians wanted to do. people liked it because it was great and didn't all sound the same. i think a lot of bands today are afraid to try something different for the fear of their fans not liking it. well, screw them. ok, i'm done here. sorry for wasting time, but it had to be said.
