Museums play a key role in lifelong learning and educational leisure. The purpose of this study was to gain insight into how learning and entertainment relate and influence each other in the context of the museum.
To assess young children’s understanding of museum exhibits; identify the personal, social and contextual factors which affect young children’s museum-based learning.
Define strategies for making the museum experience more appealing, playful and educational, in a way that develops a taste for culture and knowledge in the children, which is essential to encouraging further museum visits and the creation of a public in the future.
The Case Study Institutions : Oceanário de Lisboa (Aquarium) Pavilhão do Conhecimento Ciência Viva (Science Center) Museu da Marioneta (Puppet Museum)
