What were they thinking? How could they plan a huge trip across the world and tell us a mere two days before we are scheduled to leave!? Seriously, they just told us five minutes ago. One of Prof. Hat's assistants rushed into the common room, posted something on the bulletin board, and then left as quickly as he had entered. I was sitting right besides the fire at the time and just glanced at the paper and forgot about it. I figured it was just some notice from one of the professors to remember that some students still hadn't handed in their finals.
I would have gone on forgetting about the bulletin but my forgetfulness was interrupted by a loud shriek. A girl I was not familiar with was screaming at the bulletin, her voice sounded upset, excited, and surprised. "What?!" she yelled so loud that I was sure the Slytherins in the dungeons had heard her. "June 5th! What am I going to where? I have to go pack!" And with that she ran up the stairs to her dorm room, her equally hysterical group of friends following her.
Everyone sitting in the common room was staring at where the group of girls had just gone. Then our eyes moved over a bit and hit the bulletin board. A few people were looking around, worried about what it could possibly be. Finally someone stood up to look at the paper. He stared at it for a second, reading it I believe, and then his mouth dropped. "A trip?" he said softly but the room was so silent that everyone heard him. One by one everyone jumped up and ran over to read the paper. Everyone had different reactions. A few people shrieked like the first girl while others just stared at the paper for a long period of time. I waited until the crowd had cleared out and walked up to the paper cautiously. I read it over and my head began to spin. We were going to be going on a cruise ship...in less than 2 days? We were going to go to amazing places all in the Caribbean, a place I had always dreamed of going to. And best of all, we were going to party. We were going to be fiesta-ing for the majority of the trip.
As I walked slowly up the stairs to my dorm room, refusing to react to the people running around screaming about the cruise, I still couldn't decide how to feel. It was just so overwhelming. Finally I decided that a cruise was a good thing. I decided that it would be the best trip Hogwarts has ever seen. And with that, I flung myself onto my bed to write this long entry about my experience.
Now you all know that I would just love to write more and more but I have to pack. I'm going on a trip soon, you know. ;)
