Well, it was an interesting weekend. I faced my demons and committed to and completed a 466 mile trip to So Cal for a gathering. It went well. I'm still afraid to drive.
Matt did the grocery shopping today. He got his drivers license finally earlier this week and he decided that given my exhausted state from driving over 800 miles this weekend, I didn't need to go out again.
Finally, as if that weren't enough, he just finished playing Bioshock. Apparently, you face the choice to kill little girls to harvest their energy to fuel your attacks or you can free them. Matthew was quite surprised when I popped in and asked him because Userfriendly had run this comic a couple of days ago.
I told him that UF considered it a moral dilemma and he said, "That's because Iliad is an asshole." LOL He said he had saved them all, in a tone that indicated he couldn't believe everyone didn't, and that he got a little gift that saved his life later on. He just now came in to advise me that at the end of the game, when he was defeated, the little girls came to his rescue and helped him win.
This seems like an interesting game. Matt seems to think that it is based, in part, on Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged . . .gods, who knew he read that . . . and he talked about some of the stuff, like one of the good characters being Atlas and the philosophy of the guy who started the undersea community of "everyone for themselves". I won't be able to play it, but it looked really cool if you like first person shooters.
