It was evening at Guy's Diner. The dinner rush was over and there was a lull before the bars close when the drunks come in to sober up before going home.

Guy's is one of those old-fashioned diners, circa 1950, with maybe a half dozen or so booths lining one wall and along the other is all counter. I often stop in for coffee before my shift as a late night talk show host at the local AM radio station.

Guy's is an excellent place to catch up on the local gossip and events of the day as it seems there is always some sort of heated discussion or oddball happening going on.
