In the recent years, the rapid growth and service quality of cloud computing has made it an attractive technology for different Tech Companies. However with the growing number of data centers resources, high levels of energy cost are being consumed with more carbon emissions in the air. For instance, the Google data center estimation of electric power consumption is equivalent to the energy requirement of a small sized city. Also, even if the virtualization of resources in cloud computing datacenters may reduce the number of physical machines and hardware equipments cost, it is still restrained by energy consumption issue. Energy efficiency has become a major concern for today's cloud datacenter researchers, with a simultaneous improvement of the cloud service quality and reducing operation cost. This paper analyses and discusses the literature review of works related to the contribution of energy efficiency enhancement in cloud computing datacenters. The main objective is to have the best management of the involved physical machines which host the virtual ones in the cloud datacenters.

We performed several simulations and experiments with step and variable power scenarios for different values of the DC-link capacity with the DC storage element being the key element of the grid-side converter. The linear control was designed on the basis of the internal model control theory where an active damping was added to avoid steady state errors. Nonlinear controls were built using first and second order sliding mode controls with theoretical considerations to ensure accuracy and stability. We observed that the first order sliding mode control was the most efficient algorithm for controlling the DC-link voltage but that the chattering degraded the quality of the energy injected into the grid as well as the efficiency of the grid-side converter. The linear control caused overshoots on the DC-link voltage; however...

In reality, finding a parking space in the city of Casablanca in Morocco in working hours is an almost impossible mission. This search for parking space results in waste of time, fuels, and traffic jams. In order to resolve these issues and reduce the problems caused by inefficient and classic parking system, we proposed a solution to contribute to the good management of traffic, reduce the search time of free parking spaces and improve the profitability of the parking by regulating rates.

Therefore, it is important to take adequate measures to be protected from these threats. Similarly, intrusions detection systems are known to adapt to changing user behavior and evolution of complex networks. In this paper, we propose a platform of intrusion detection based on a distributed approach that uses multi-agent aspect to eliminate heavy attacks and make further discussion on the intrusions may represent low threats.

It promises to offer to users cost-effective and on-demand decentralized services, in terms of computing, memory, storage, etc., without the need for large infrastructure investments. Moreover, with the growing number of data centers resources, much higher levels of energy are being consumed. Also, the increasing level of associated carbon dioxide is emitted in the air, which consequently, raises the costs. Considering that there is an extreme growth in demand for Data Centers cloud computing requiring high computational complexity, there is an utmost need to take sufficient measures to lower the risk of energy demand. Hence, efficient energy-aware techniques are required to assure proper performance with regards to Service Level Agreements (SLA). In this work, we highlighted the issue of Virtual Machines (VMs) allocation in cloud computing data centers, and how to better manage the placement of VMs in order to optimize performance and reduce energy consumption. In our proposed solution, we will focus on minimizing the number of Physical Machines (PMs) hosting the VMs and utilize them as sufficient as possible.

Since smart parking integrates a lot of actors, here, a distributed architecture to manage them by collecting efficiently their data is presented. Two types of data relating to the parking must be collected: those coming from the deployed equipment in the parking and those coming from the internet due to remote users. Thus, a system of two main servers based on the multi-agent concept is proposed. This system manages the parking platform. The first server is dedicated to the parking equipment data collection (Processing Server–PS). Besides, a low-cost and efficient local parser for the parking network sensor agent is also proposed. The second server (Processing Web Server–PWS) collects the users’ online data such as reservation, and it is responsible for pricing policies, and receive post-processed data from the Processing Server.

Any successful malicious incident could cause material, human and economic damages. Thus, the security of the SCADA networks became an emergency requirement to keep the continuity of services against hostile and cyber terrorist security risks. Several studies were conducted to secure SCADA networks against internal or external threats. In this paper, we focused on protection against both internal and external threats by adopting security mechanisms as access control, availability, authentication and integrity using a secure communication protocol ModbusSec and an intelligent firewall . We adopt also the self-healing and the intrusion tolerance techniques so in case of an intrusion in the system; it will have no impact on the continuity of service and the network safety.

For the model simulation we propose adapted algorithm. We compare our adaptive system results to others given by urban traffic system based on fixe pattern lights. The system is designed to make equilibrium between the length queue and the states of lights to search optimal strategy guarantying the fluidity of traffic and minimizing the total delay. The real-time urban traffic control model CRONOS has been applied on a simple intersection presenting two roads. We have choosing a simple intersection to validate our method which will apply after for a complicate intersection. We use traffic evaluation criteria to testing the accuracy the model. The results show benefits of the proposed model on the total delay compared to that of the fixe pattern lights system. All traffic situations, peak or low are concerned by these results.

Several researches have been conducted on the issue of HPC load balancing. Their common point is that they consider processes (workload) as passive units to be balanced among cluster nodes (computational resources) to ensure optimal load balancing. The hypothesis behind our work assumes that the unit to be balanced, i.e. a process (computational task), is more likely to know its needs, and thus more likely to decide whether to migrate to another node or not. Therefore, the load balancing issue is studied at the parallel programming phase. Generated processes, after being recompiled using our LB integrator tool, will be systematically granted a built-in intelligence. The latter enables them to monitor their environment and migrate from one node to another in case of overloading. For this end, we have designed a built-in load balancing model based on stigmergy and coll...

This paper describes an architecture conceived and developed in this area. Its principle consists of dividing and modelling a multi agent system to as many agents as necessary, an organisation and an environment. A designer or a programmer builds its application by making a choice of the necessary agents, by coding their processing around a processing model and by associating them around integration architecture, and then by coding non generic agents. This on agent based approach, conceived around a core to which we can add and develop thematic software layers, enhance the modularity and the genericity of developments allowing their reuse in future developments. This characteristic distinguishes our platform from other existing environments for being not only independent from any other particular multiagents model but it ...

In this paper, we present some novel parking pricing schemes to solve the parking spots scarcity and enhance the traffic condition in urban areas. We capture the traveler behavior in term of joint route and parking selection using a simple congestion game. Each traveler aims to minimize his/her expected travel cost by choosing an optimal strategy (route and parking spot). We show how an efficient pricing can incentivize the travelers to optimally choose their route-parking while reducing the traffic congestion.

It remains difficult to reduce the large number of vehicles circling in search for free and cheaper lots in urban area. The driver’s choice for on-street lots, which are generally cheaper than off-street lots but also rare, causes congestion, impact negatively the parking revenues and increases the total cost of drivers' trips. However, we propose to intervene on price as effective tool to influence driver’s behavior, balance parking demand and enhance parking turnover in urban environment. This article highlights the interactions between parking price, real-time parking demand and parking time. We analyze the parking time under near-real-life conditions using the Discrete Batch Markovian Arrival Process (D-BMAP).
