However, treatment with cisplatin is associated with drug resistance and several adverse side effects such as nephrotoxicity, reduced immunity towards infections and hearing loss. A Combination of cisplatin with other drugs is an approach to overcome drug resistance and reduce toxicity. The combination therapy also results in increased sensitivity of cisplatin towards cancer cells. The mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway in the cell, consisting of extracellular signal regulated kinase, c-Jun N-terminal kinase, p38 kinases, and downstream mediator p90 ribosomal s6 kinase (RSK); is responsible for the regulation of various cellular events including cell survival, cell proliferation, cell cycle progression, cell migration and protein translation. This review article demonstrates the role of MAPK pathway in cisplatin based therapy, illustrates different combination therapy involving cisplatin...

technique /physical methods of treatment to improve the constitution of body by removing waste
materials and improving the defense mechanism of the body and protect health. In other words these
are the best known “detoxification methods”. Therapeutic approach in Unani system are Ilaj-bilTadbeer (Regimental therapy), Ilaj-bil-Giza (Dietotherapy), Ilaj-bil-Dawa (Pharmacotherapy) and Ilajbil-Yad (Surgery) these are important modalities of Tibb for treating disease and maintenance of
health. Among above said four modes Ilaj-bil-Tadbeer is very important, most of regimes are used
independently or in combination with medicines. Regimental therapy improves the quality of health by
improving the defense mechanism of the body. Asbab-e-satta zarooria (six essentials of life) are very
important for maintaining healthy life, regarding this maintaining health and treating the disorders of
body are achieved through modulating Asbab-e-satta zarooria. Old nomenclature of Ilaj-bil-Tadbeer is
Molijat-e-khususi. By application of regimental therapies normal health can be restored. Riyazat

are used for therapeutic and preventive purpose since centuries by ancient Unani physicians.

in natural medicine. Date is delicious fruit enjoyed by all since antiquity. It is valuable food and
medicine stated by systems of medicine like Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani medicines and secured valuable
status in many formulations. In Ayurved, it is presented that date should be consumed daily. Date is a
potent nutritive, aphrodisiac, tonic, laxative fruit. It is effective remedy in various diseases like fever,
cancer, pittaja disorders, etc. Dates have been used for both dietary purposes as well as for their
phytomedicinal impacts against the variety of diseases. Date fruits are rich in alkaloids, protein,
carbohydrate, fatty acid (linoleic, lauric, palmitic, and stearic acid), carotenoids, vitamins, polyphenolic
compounds, flavonoids, and tannins along with different types of nutrients like potassium, calcium,
magnesium, and phosphorus. Date's assuring preventive potential is hidden in high nutritional values as
well as it's antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer actions. This detailed information
on nutritional and health promoting components of dates and their seeds will enhance our knowledge
and appreciation for the use of dates in our daily diet and their seeds as a functional food ingredient.

In the Mediterranean region it is so widely used, both fresh and dried, that it is called “the poor man’s food.” The dried fruits of F. carica have been reported as an important source of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, sugars, organic acids, and phenolic compounds. The plant has been used in traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments related to digestive, endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems, and also cancer. Additionally, it is also used in gastrointestinal tract and urinary tract infection.Phytochemical studies on the leaves and fruits of the plant have shown that they are rich in phenolics, organic acids, and volatile compounds. However, there is little information on the phytochemicals present in the stem and root. Reports on the biological activities of the plant are mainly on its crude extracts which have been proven to possess many biological activities. Some of the most interesting therapeutic effectsinclude anticancer, hepatoprotective, hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and antimicrobial activities. Thus, studies related to identification of the bioactive compounds and correlating them to their biological activities are very useful for further research toexplore the potential of F. carica as a source of therapeutic agents.

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon on Him) recommended and used it to maintain health. Although the seeds of cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) are widely used as a spice for their distinctive aroma, they are also commonly used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of diseases. The literature presents ample evidence for the biomedical activities of cumin, which have generally been ascribed to its bioactive constituents such as terpenes, phenols, and flavonoids. Those health effects of cumin seeds that are experimentally validated are discussed in this review. Numerous pre-clinical and clinical trials have investigated its efficacy using the seed oil, essential oil, and its main constituent thymoquinone (TQ). These investigations support its use either independently or as an adjunct along with conventional drugs in respiratory problems, allergic rhinitis, dyspepsia, metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory diseases, and different types of human cancer. Multiple studies made in the last decades validate its health beneficial effects particularly in diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, respiratory disorders, inflammatory diseases, and cancer. Nigella sativa seeds also possess immune stimulatory, gastroprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and neuroprotective activities. TQ is the most abundant constituent of volatile oil of N. sativa seeds, and most of the medicinal properties of N. sativa are attributed mainly to TQ. All the available evidence suggests that TQ should be developed as a novel drug in clinical trials.

The Neem (Azadirachta indica) has a vital role in various problems associated with human health. The chemical constituents present in the neem plant make it a doctor tree due to its wide scope in biological activities associated with it, and has become a global context today. Neem (Azadirachta indica) is considered harmless to humans, animals, birds, beneficial insects and earthworms, and has been approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency for use on food crops. Azadirachtin and other active ingredients in the neem seed have insecticidal properties that are effective against a broad spectrum of insects, many mites and nematodes, and even snails and fungi, and do not seem to generate resistance in the pests they affect. Nowadays, neem and its extracts are used in numerous herbal medicines and cosmetics. What’s more, even neem contraceptives are available in the market this days. Neem extract which have Nimbinin, nimbandiol as active constituents, alcoholic extract of the leaves was found to possess a significant blood sugar lowering effect, which are very useful against diabetes. Neem is used in Dermatitis Eczema, Acne, Bacterial/Fungal infections and other skin disorders. It has demonstrated its effectiveness as a powerful antibiotic. Neem also has shown antiviral, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties. It helps support a strong immune system and is used in cases of inflammatory skin conditions. Neem has been extensively used in Ayurveda, Unani and Homoeopathic medicine and has become a centre of attraction of modern medicine. Hence, the article is aims to utilize the medicinal properties of whole neem plant in various disorders of mankind.
