I apologize in advance if this is an ignorant question. I'm not trying to sound stupid. I've only had Syrian hamsters before, dwarves are new to me.
Two days ago, I got 2 dwarf hamsters. One is a Russian, the other is Chinese. They live together in a 10 gallon aquarium. They've lived together since they were babies, and don't appear to be fighting at all. They sleep curled up together and generally like eachother's company. Do you think they will begin fighting when they get older, or do you think they are okay to stay together?
Okay, here's the more important question. The Russian is a girl, the male is Chinese. Will they breed? Would it be successful? Would the hamsters turn out mutated or unhealthy? Would it harm the female? I've heard a number of different answers, which is why I'm asking, just to be safe. I've heard all hamsters are hamsters, and that they'll breed fine. The man at the pet store that sold me my hamsters said babies were "guaranteed", yet a few websites I looked at say it shouldn't be done. So I figured I would ask the experts. :) If you have any links to helpful information for me, I would appreciate it.
Again, I apologize if I sound stupid. I don't mean to.
Thank you for your help. :)
