It is an extended version which encompasses an essay on the emergence of the dual conception of sex and sexualities between 17th and 20th centuries CE. This monograph has been acclaimed as the “most complete survey of Queer Studies in Brazil” (Denilson Lopes. “In Search of a New Invisibility”. In: Carvalho, V. M., Gavioli, N. (ed.). Literature and Ethics in Contemporary Brazil. (London: Routledge, 2017.) p. 167).

The goal of Projeto Rondon (Rondon Project) is to give a valid opportunity for
university students to learn more about the reality of Brazilian population, focusing on low-income families and/or small cities inhabitants. With that, the students will have more insights about their own lives and will be able to deal better with daily challenges. The content of this report seeks to illustrate how was that experience, living for a few days in a very small city, Anchieta, one of the seven cities that hosted the Operação Fronteira (Frontier Project). Our group had ten people: seven students and one teacher from the Santa Catarina State University ( UDESC) and also two other students from the Roraima State University ( UERR). The chosen methods to interact with the local
population included workshops, competitions and recreational activities. This project allowed us to have a different perspective of life, a unique experience that contributed to our personal growth. We are extremely thankful for having the chance to be a part in such an amazing project, being able to share our knowledge and to explore our ability to interact with people from different backgrounds is definitely something that we are going to carry for our whole lives.

Abstract: This paper presents a arqueography the emergence of Queer Studies in Brazil between 1990 and 2000. From a literature review, is intended to reflect and discuss the conditions for the appearance of Queer studies, its development and its consequences. Analyzed as a rhizomatic meeting of Cultural Studies, the French post-structuralism and feminism third wave of a queer perspective seems to have circulated by the Brazilian academic community even before the inaugural Guacira Lopes Louro work's. It is, therefore, a historiographical survey of the setting of this field of study in Brazil. Thus, the article does not intend to launch definitions and certainties, but proposing the debate.
