Healthy Gals! (original) (raw)

We should pimp this community ; - ;

Anyway, I had a question for all of you gals who get their clothes from Japanese brands- being a slightly overweight girl, it's pretty hard to fit into those super-tiny Japanese clothes, so do any of you guys know of any Japanese brands that cater to those sizes? I would love to fit into Liz Lisa, alas....

Even more new members are joining us, so I'd like to encourage everyone to use this community and post often! I haven't been doing the best job in the world of updating lately, but I'm starting to get back in the swing of things!

I hit the gym 4 days this week, and have felt great all week long! I'm back down to 180! *yays*

Yesterday I didn't really eat very much. On busy days, it's hard for me to take time out to fix breakfast, stop for lunch, etc. I think I ended up eating a granola bar sometime around 3, and a 6" veggie sub from Subway around 7pm. I *did* have coffee from Starbucks at noon. That was my lunch I guess.... bad me. Eh-heh.... *sweatdrop*

This is just a message to welcome our new members and to encourage everyone to stay active. It's been a while since anyone has posted, and I know a lot of us were consumed by work for a few weeks, but it's time to get back to work here!

I just started hitting the gym last week and am finally back down to the size I was at MTAC. (180 lbs, finally!) I pretty much binged once the wedding was over and gained five pounds back within a week. Then Cole hurt his back and I wasn't able to go to the gym at all! So yeah, that weight I had fought so hard to lose came creeping back. But it's gone again, and I'm keeping it off this time!! XD

Today was my second workout with my trainer, which I wrote about in my LJ. I did an hour with her, then another hour of Pilates. Tomorrow I'm going to go to do just cardio- probably the treadmill and bike again for an hour.

I've been tanning for 5 minutes each day, and so far no burn! Yays!

For breakfast, I slipped up- I was in such a hurry, I just threw some leftover broccoli casserole in the microwave, wolfed it down, and took a bottle of water to drink on the way to the gym...
For lunch, I had a baked potato, and some tuna casserole.
For dinner, since I'll be at work, I think I'll just have a big salad. (lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, fat free honey mustard) And probably a cup of soup, depending on what we have.

Breakfast: 1 cup of grapefruit, 1 slice of whole grain toast with peanut butter and honey, water

Lunch: Tuna sandwich and some homemade mac n cheese. (okay, I'm splurging a little!)

Dinner: Baked potatoes, steamed broccoli, ?

Today was my "rest" day at the gym, so I only did 15 minutes on the treadmill and 15 on the bike. I lifted some freeweights for my arms, since they didn't get worked much yesterday. This was my third day tanning, and so far, I haven't burnt myself!! Yays. ^_^

I just got home from the gym, and I feel awsome! I met my personal trainer at 8am, she made me do lots of new exercises, then after an hour with her, I spent 20 minutes on the treadmill, then went ot Yoga class. It was great!!

For breakfast, I was in a hurry to be at the gym on time, so I just had a 1/2 cup of grapefruit and a handful of peanuts. I wanted peanut butter toast.... T_T I also drank a bottle of water on the way to the gym.

Now I'm home, and I'm having some whole grain pasta with a light marina sauce with olives, and a small salad with grape tomoatoes, sprout, black and green olives, cheese, and light done right dressing. (And another bottle of water!)

Not sure about dinner, but I'm thinking stir-fry veggies and some long grain rice!

Most of you probably read my LJ and saw that I joined a gym yesterday! Today was my first day working out there, and I really enjoyed it.
I did:
15 minutes on the Treadmill
10 minutes of exercises with 5lb weights
30 minutes on the Elliptical

And I've gotten so lazy about keeping a food journal, but now I have to for my trainer, so here goes:

Breakfast:
1/2 cup of grapefruit
1 cup of oatmeal square cereal in 1/2 cup of skim milk
2 cups of coffee with light vanilla creamer

Lunch:
Salad with Dark green leaf lettuce, cheese, alfalfa sprouts, grape tomatoes, 1 boca burger chopped, onion, and Light Done Right Thousand Island dressing
3 tbs of hummus and 6 pita chips
Water

Snack:
handful of almonds & peanuts

Dinner:
Tuna salad pita with lettuce, onion, and fat-free honey mustard
Bean and corn salad
Spiced sweet potatoes
Water

So, how has everyone else been doing? No one ever posts here, and I'd like to see that change!

It's Monday! That means it's update time!

Previous weight: 190
Current weight: 187 (-3 lbs in one week)
Previous measurements: 41-38-44 (T____T)
Current measurements: 40-37-43 (1" all around! whoo-hoo)

I didn't workout over the weekend due to my insanely busy schedule, but I just finished working out this morning, and I feel fabulous. I've been sticking to not eating meat, and it's going very well. I don't really miss it. It just makes eating out a pain in the butt. (Can I have that chicken salad without the chicken?)

You guys have been too quiet! I want to know how everyone else is doing!

So, yesterday I ended up getting called in to work the morning Lead shift, so I worked a double. That's a 12 hour shift for me! So yeah, not much time to exercise, but I did keep my meals simple. I had a cup of yogurt for breakfast, a Boca burger with cheese, green leaf lettuce, tomatos, and sprouts for lunch with sweet potatoes and black beans. For dinner I just had a baked potato and ceasar salad from Wendys. (I didn't get off work till almost ll...)

Today, I exercised again. 2 reps of 12-15 of all 8 exercises, and I did a third rep of the arm and back toning exercises, since those are the most important areas for my gown. For breakfast I had a cup of yogurt, for a snack I had a Slimfast high-protein drink and when Cole gets home we'll figure out lunch. I'm working tonight, and I'm thinking I'll have a Veggie Pita with some sweet potatoes. Unless we have Vegetarian chili, and the it's chili all the way, but we probalby won't. T_T

Hey gals!

So today is day two of my "I Survived Thanksgiving and Have an Extra 10 lbs to Lose" regime. ^__^;

After Thanksgiving, I decided in an extra effort to lose extra pounds by Ohayocon, I'm not eating meat for the next 7 weeks. I am, however, getting protein from other sources, such as nuts, yogurt, and soy products. (Boca burgers are great!)I'm also doing well with that so far, but this is only day 3. I don't really miss meat... the only thing I really ate was chicken, so it's not a huge sacrifice. (I'm still eating seafood on occassion, but only because it is nutrient-rich and low in fat and calories.)

I exercised yesterday for about an hour with my 5-lb weights. My thighs still feel like jello today. XD Today, I'm going to play DDR for an hour and then Para for about an hour. It's Cardio day! I will switch back and forth between weight training and cardio until New Year's.

How's everyone else doing? This place is waaaay too quiet!!
