The purpose of this research is to provide an accounting perspective on the value of actuarial sc... more The purpose of this research is to provide an accounting perspective on the value of actuarial science in the insurance industry, investigate how it contributes as an actuarial accountant to the Jordanian insurance industry, and what kind of value it may bring to the table, in particular. The regional economy is plagued by erratic swings in the economy, which put a pall on financial security and its impact on productivity (Vyas, 2019). Despite the small number of actuaries working in the insurance industry in Jordan. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the author used a questionnaire surveying a cross-section of professionals from the fields of insurance practice, academia, actuarial science, financial analysis, and auditing. The sample of this study is 291. The study found that these professionals are vital to the industry, as the risks associated with economic volatility and financial crises necessitate the use of actuarial accounting techniques, and as such, they play a crucial role in bolstering the quality of financial reporting. According to the findings, actuarial accountants and actuarial science play a crucial role in the banking industry by helping institutions weather economic storms and financial crises through the use of actuarial methodologies.

The firm's success is directly related to the efficiency of its supply chain. This research was conducted on firms that typically trade on the Saudi Stock Exchange as belonging to the food industry. Purposive sampling was used in this study to show the sample. In addition, the data collected in this study from the annual report for 20 firms, for three years (2019-2021). This study finds that the Profitability, and Reports of Sustainable supply chain of the firm affect the firm value, and these results are consistent with the perspective of Stakeholder and Agency Theories. However, the firm's value is unaffected by the industry profile.

The following study examined how energy use and technological advancement impacted environmental ... more The following study examined how energy use and technological advancement impacted environmental sustainability in QUAD (US, Japan, Australia, and India) economies between 1991 and 2021. The study considers the generation of renewable energy, fossil fuel use, and the effects of economic expansion on environmental sustainability. The research used the moment quantile regression technique based on the outcomes of slope heterogeneity, cross-sectional dependence, and the order of the unit-root by the using second-generation method of cross-sectional augmented Im, Pesaran, and Shin tests. The study discovered that renewable energy production and technological innovation enhances environmental sustainability, whereas the use of nonrenewable energy and economic growth worsen it. When implementing policies regarding the environment, energy, and the growth of QUAD economies based on concrete evidence, policy makers and environmentalists in QUAD countries should also take into account the asymmetrical performance of efficiency in energy production, technological innovation, and economic growth.

global economies in the twenty-first century. Although a few sectors
have benefited from it, the majority of companies in all sectors
have been affected. This research came to test the moderating
effect of the reserves of the firms on the relationship between
the COVID-19 pandemic and the performance of firms (financial
and non-financial performance). The study adopted a questionnaire
survey to collect the data. The questionnaires were sent online to
the top management of the firms listed on the Amman Stock
Exchange (ASE). The results showed that the pandemic of COVID-19
damages the financial and non-financial performance of the firms
in all sectors listed on the Amman Stock Exchange in Jordan.
But the reserves of the firms have a positive effect on reducing
the negative effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the firms’
performance (financial and non-financial). Thus, this research
recommends that the government must involve the firms listed on
the Amman Stock Exchange in its palliatives programmes or
stimulus packages to maintain the companies in the private sector
in operation after the pandemic. In addition, the firms must take
their reserves seriously and increase them.

A survey questionnaire was employed to check the level of SRA practice, and a checklist was used to discover the level of SRA disclosure which was collected from the annual reports of the firms listed on the ASE. The questionnaires and annual reports were employed to collect information from 104 companies in the financial, services, and industrial sectors for this study. SPSS was used to for data analysis and the results showed that the level of SRA practice in listed companies on the ASE is good, while the level of SRA disclosure is very low. The latter could be related to many reasons, including lack of awareness of Jordanians companies' managers in the culture of SRA and related issues due to the novelty of SRA disclosure in Jordan and developing countries. In addition, companies mostly focus on product quality when they practice SRA.

This research aimed to discover the moderating impact of earnings management between social and e... more This research aimed to discover the moderating impact of earnings management between social and environmental costs disclosure on financial performance. To realize this purpose, this research employed a quantitative method by using primary data collected from the Amman Stock Exchange. This study used the questionnaire to collect the data from a sample of 127 companies. The Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) is used to test the data. The results of the study show that the social and environmental costs disclosure positively and significantly impacted the financial performance of the firms. This was consistent with agency, legitimacy, and stakeholders' theories. This means that more disclosure about the cost of social and environmental information could create opportunities for firms. Also, earnings management was found to have a significant and positive effect on the relationship between social cost disclosure and the financial performance of the firms. And earnings management was found to have a significant and positive effect on the relationship between environmental cost disclosure and financial performance of the firms.

A questionnaire was used to collect the data from 115 of the top managers of firms and internal auditors. Multiple regression methods were employed through SPSS software to test the hypotheses. The results of the study show that the external entity pressure, ease of use of the system, and cost-benefit overload positively and significantly affect the performance of the internal audit. While adapting to previous systems, training their employees, and the successful implementation of the model did not affect the performance of the internal audit.

The study aimed to know the impact of applying the Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) on the quality of annual financial reports from external auditors' view ‘for public shareholding companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. To achieve the objective of the study ‘the researcher has distributed questionnaires to (395) of the external auditors, and the number of responded of the questionnaire (179). In this study ‘‘the researcher used a set of statistical methods in the SPSS. Among the findings of this study there is knowledge to external auditors towards the application of Extensible Business Reporting Language, and that there is an impact of the applying Extensible Business Reporting Language on the quality of annual financial reports. In addition, there is an effect of applying Extensible Business Reporting Language on the dimensions of the quality of the annual financial reports, such as financial and non-financial data, in addition to transparency and reliability, as well as its impact on reducing the costs of information dissemination. In addition, this study recommended to management of ASE to continue preparing workshops and training courses for external auditors to raise awareness of the disclosure using the Extensible Business Reporting Language. In addition, the commitment of companies listed on the ASE to disclose all its data using the Extensible Business Reporting Language, because it has significant impact to raising the level of quality of annual financial reports. Finally, increasing the studies and research on the topic of Extensible Business Reporting Language from researchers due to the importance of this area, and its recent applied in Jordan.

To realize the goal of this study, the researcher followed the descriptive-analytical method. The data of the study sample was gathered from the financial reports of the listed banks on the Amman Financial Market that pertain to stock prices and market return in the period 2014-2018. The study used simple regression analysis to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Among the most prominent findings of the study, there is an impact of the social responsibility disclosure in reducing risks, as well as an effect of the dimensions of social responsibility: the environment, customers and employees in reducing risks.

Data was analyzed using Structural Model via AMOS version 26 and SPSS version 21. The findings revealed a positive and significant effect between board size, board composition and real earning management at p-value<0.05 and 0.001 (two-tailed) respectively. This study is primarily designed to examine the moderating effects of dividend policy on the impa... more This study is primarily designed to examine the moderating effects of dividend policy on the impact of financial statement disclosure towards the corporate value of the Jordanian industrial companies listed in Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). In this study, the unit of analysis consist of 61 industrial firms, which is equivalent to 63% of the total number of Jordanian listed industries in ASE as at 2011. Therefore, secondary data was used, in which the data was collected from the annual financial reports disclosed by the selected industrial firms covering the period of 13 years from 2005 to 2017. Analysis was made through SPSS version 21 and SmartPLS version 3. Accordingly, findings of this study revealed that the total direct effects between the variables were positively significant at p-value < 0.001 whereas, the moderating effects of dividend policy was proved to be insignificant at p-value > 0.05. Moreover, the total contribution of the exogenous variables in the prediction of endogenous variable is 85%. Based on the findings, it is recommended that, Jordanian listed industrial firms should consider a full disclosure of their financial transaction since accountability and transparency attracts potential investors and creditors alike to pick interest in doing business with utmost financial security. It is recommended that the listed industrial firms of Jordanian should be given a maximum consideration to the indicators used in this study since the indicators were perfects to measure the variables under study for a better management decisions.

Introduction: The principles of corporate governance are considered to be the framework for supervisory procedures, guidance and monitoring the Board of Directors, public administration, and executive management in order to achieve the company's goals, which preserve the rights of shareholders therefore maintain the financial performance of the company and prevent it from failing like major companies that failed because of management issues, lack of auditing and control departments an the lack of corporate governance principles which leads to deficiencies in financial performance. Hence the need to expand the role of corporate governance which provides a solid and effective foundation for protecting companies, preserves the rights of shareholders, leads to a better internal and external communication system and highlights the role of transparency in the disclosure of it financial statements. To realize this purpose, this research employed a quantitative method by using primary data collected from the Amman Stock Exchange. This study used the questionnaire to collect the data from a sample of 127 companies. The Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) is used to test the data. The results of the study show that the social and environmental costs disclosure positively and significantly impacted the financial performance of the firms. This was consistent with agency, legitimacy, and stakeholders&#39; theories. This means that more disclosure about the cost of social and environmental information could create opportunities for firms. Also, earnings management was found to have a significant and positive effect on the relationship between social cost disclosure and the financial performance of the firms. And earnings management was found to have a significant and positive effect on the relationship between environmental cost disclosure and financial performance of the firms.

A questionnaire was used to collect the data from 115 of the top managers of firms and internal auditors. Multiple regression methods were employed through SPSS software to test the hypotheses. The results of the study show that the external entity pressure, ease of use of the system, and cost-benefit overload positively and significantly affect the performance of the internal audit. While adapting to previous systems, training their employees, and the successful implementation of the model did not affect the performance of the internal audit.

The study aimed to know the impact of applying the Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) on the quality of annual financial reports from external auditors' view ‘for public shareholding companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. To achieve the objective of the study ‘the researcher has distributed questionnaires to (395) of the external auditors, and the number of responded of the questionnaire (179). In this study ‘‘the researcher used a set of statistical methods in the SPSS. Among the findings of this study there is knowledge to external auditors towards the application of Extensible Business Reporting Language, and that there is an impact of the applying Extensible Business Reporting Language on the quality of annual financial reports. In addition, there is an effect of applying Extensible Business Reporting Language on the dimensions of the quality of the annual financial reports, such as financial and non-financial data, in addition to transparency and reliability, as well as its impact on reducing the costs of information dissemination. In addition, this study recommended to management of ASE to continue preparing workshops and training courses for external auditors to raise awareness of the disclosure using the Extensible Business Reporting Language. In addition, the commitment of companies listed on the ASE to disclose all its data using the Extensible Business Reporting Language, because it has significant impact to raising the level of quality of annual financial reports. Finally, increasing the studies and research on the topic of Extensible Business Reporting Language from researchers due to the importance of this area, and its recent applied in Jordan.

To realize the goal of this study, the researcher followed the descriptive-analytical method. The data of the study sample was gathered from the financial reports of the listed banks on the Amman Financial Market that pertain to stock prices and market return in the period 2014-2018. The study used simple regression analysis to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. Among the most prominent findings of the study, there is an impact of the social responsibility disclosure in reducing risks, as well as an effect of the dimensions of social responsibility: the environment, customers and employees in reducing risks.

This study is primarily designed to examine the moderating effects of dividend policy on the impa... more This study is primarily designed to examine the moderating effects of dividend policy on the impact of financial statement disclosure towards the corporate value of the Jordanian industrial companies listed in Amman Stock Exchange (ASE). In this study, the unit of analysis consist of 61 industrial firms, which is equivalent to 63% of the total number of Jordanian listed industries in ASE as at 2011. Therefore, secondary data was used, in which the data was collected from the annual financial reports disclosed by the selected industrial firms covering the period of 13 years from 2005 to 2017. Analysis was made through SPSS version 21 and SmartPLS version 3. Accordingly, findings of this study revealed that the total direct effects between the variables were positively significant at p-value < 0.001 whereas, the moderating effects of dividend policy was proved to be insignificant at p-value > 0.05. Moreover, the total contribution of the exogenous variables in the prediction of endogenous variable is 85%. Based on the findings, it is recommended that, Jordanian listed industrial firms should consider a full disclosure of their financial transaction since accountability and transparency attracts potential investors and creditors alike to pick interest in doing business with utmost financial security. It is recommended that the listed industrial firms of Jordanian should be given a maximum consideration to the indicators used in this study since the indicators were perfects to measure the variables under study for a better management decisions.

Introduction: The principles of corporate governance are considered to be the framework for supervisory procedures, guidance and monitoring the Board of Directors, public administration, and executive management in order to achieve the company's goals, which preserve the rights of shareholders therefore maintain the financial performance of the company and prevent it from failing like major companies that failed because of management issues, lack of auditing and control departments an the lack of corporate governance principles which leads to deficiencies in financial performance. A survey questionnaire was employed to check the level of SRA practice, and a checklist was used to discover the level of SRA disclosure which was collected from the annual reports of the firms listed on the ASE. The questionnaires and annual reports were employed to collect information from 104 companies in the financial, services, and industrial sectors for this study. SPSS was used to for data analysis and the results showed that the level of SRA practice in listed companies on the ASE is good, while the level of SRA disclosure is very low. The latter could be related to many reasons, including lack of awareness of Jordanians companies' managers in the culture of SRA and related issues due to the novelty of SRA disclosure in Jordan and developing countries. In addition, companies mostly focus on product quality when they practice SRA.
