Learn how to upgrade or replace your digital subscription.

You can make changes to your subscription in Account.

If you have a subscription billed directly through The New York Times, you can make the following changes to your subscription in your Account:

If your subscription was gifted to you will not have the option to make changes, but you can extend your access. Recipients of a Bonus Subscription cannot make changes to their subscription. If you would like to customize your subscription we encourage you to subscribe.

Note: Subscriptions that are billed through a third-party, such as Apple or Google, must be changed through that provider. Please contact the third-party directly to make changes.

To upgrade your subscription to All Access:

  1. In Account, navigate to the Subscription Overview section.
  2. Select Change subscription.
  3. In the Upgrade subscription section select the option you would like to upgrade to.
  4. Select Review Changes to review the details of your subscription change, including your new rate and terms.
  5. Select Confirm.

Note: If you are interested in upgrading your subscription to receive Home Delivery of the newspaper, select See your options at the bottom of the page.

If you have an individual subscription to The Athletic, and wish to upgrade your subscription to All Access, this action can be taken by following the steps above. However, you must cancel your individual subscription to The Athletic once complete at nytimes.com/athletic/settings.

To replace your current digital subscription with another:

  1. Navigate to the Subscription Overview section of your account page.
  2. Select Change subscription.
  3. Select an option from the Change subscription section.
  4. Select Review Changes to review the details of your subscription change, including your new rate and terms.
  5. Select Confirm.

Once you confirm the change(s), you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your subscription change. Your new subscription and/or changes reflect immediately, so you can continue to enjoy The New York Times without interruption.

Note: The remaining time from your original subscription bill will be prorated and applied to your new subscription as a credit. Any remaining credit will be applied to future payments automatically.
