pairechallenge is in desperate need of active participants! The fandom is slow right now, and summer is making people busy, but I wanted to make a shout-out to anyone new (or old) to the Peter/Claire pairing that would like to join in our contests. We could desperately use some new life back into our community!
Our current challenge is "Alternate Universe", the word count is FREE, and entries are due Monday night at midnight central time.

Phew! Hello all. I'm here under my distribution name to provide some semblance of anonymity for myself, since I'm attaching my RL face and name to this project. But those of you on my fandom flist have definitely heard about this project after months and months of my obsessive blather about it.
In January of 2010, I began production on a Heroes fan series called Zodiac. It takes place ten years before the canon series, and focuses on some new characters, as well as some familiar faces like a college-aged Isaac Mendez. I held auditions, got a cast and crew, we worked our asses off filming for two months. And here we are today, with the first half of season one being launched this summer.
The series launches June 14th, and I've got some images and a trailer to give you a preview of what it's all about.

Choc_fic is hosting a 100 day long celebration of characters - and famous people from all forms of media - of colour.
Each day (we hope) to have at least one volunteer post something that focuses on a real person or character of colour. It could be fic, art, picspams, icon sets, essays/meta, collections of fic recs... anything that celebrates the fabulousness of their chosen character or individual.
I'm hoping that some of you will join and share your thoughts, creations, or reccomendations focusing on one or more of your favorites. From Alec Hardison to Sendhil Ramamurthy to Zoe Saldana to Hiro Nakamura to John Cho to Janelle Monáe, there's bound to someone amazing you can shine the spotlight on.

One year ago in March of 2008 ficfinishing held its first round. One year later we've had a bunch of great Heroes authors and readers join the comm and go through rounds with us so thank you to the fandom for your support!

From Figures.com's report at the 2009 New York Toy Fair:
A noticeable absence from the Mezco Toy Fair display was HEROES, based on the hit NBC series.
When pressed about it, we were informed that HEROES is indeed done, with no current plans to release Series 3 or Series 4.
While the line may not have proven popular, it seems we will never see the rest of the main cast in action figure form.
So all plans of Series 3 and Series 4 have been dashed, not to mention the 3.75 inch figures and the 9 inch figures, but for obvious reasons I am mostly unhappy with the cancellation of Series 3. One would think that with all the showcasing of that series, we'd at least actually get it? Bloody. I want my Nathan figure already! :(
But I think it's better not to get angry about this as it is better to do something about it.

Is anyone else going to Wolf events Heroes convention in April? I just booked my ticket.
Greg Grunberg and Jack Coleman are the first guests to be announced, Wolf normally has a minimum of four guests (Pegasus4, their Stargate Atlantis event, had six).
It's been held in the Radisson Edwardian Heathrow in April. I hope this is a sign that they're moving ALL their conventions to the Radisson, the Thistle where Pegasus 4 was held last weekend was gross and mouldy (a mouse even ran across the breakfast room) and unlike the Radisson does not have complimentary internet access.

lastheroesstand is a last icon maker standing contest. Every week a new challenge is posted which the participants respond to by making the best icon they possibly can. Each friday voting takes place in order for the members to decide on who is eliminated and who is the members choice each week. At the end of the contest one icon maker wins a becomes the best heroes icon maker, for this round. ;)

sendhilfans is a new Livejournal community for fans from Sendhil Ramamurthy. In contrary to other communities it's a place where no fanfic, icons, etc. can be posted, instead it focuses on news articles, videos, interviews, picspams, magazine scans and the like with Sendhil as well as discussions about his character Mohinder Suresh on Heroes or any of the other roles he has portrayed.

As was announced recently, Santiago Cabrera is now attending the Heroes Eclipse Event in the UK alongside Hayden Pannettiere, Sendhil Ramamurthy, David Anders, Jayma Mays & Noah Gray-Cabey on the 14th-16th March.
Because of such decadentdream and I posted the Canvas Project, which is basically a collection endeavour where we gather fanmail and small presents for actor Santiago Cabrera to show our appreciation for him as an actor.
Anyone can participate, whether you're attending the convention or not, whether you're a member of Livejournal or not. This is a fandom wide project and we hope to get as much participation as possible to shower Santiago in fan!love during his first Heroes signing/convention.
