areas of human activity is imperative. The built environment (BE) to which the construction industry
belongs is not an exception to this. The BE is one clear example of the impact of human activity on
resources. These gave rise to Green Buildings (GB). GB is the foundation of sustainable construction and
building development. These clearly indicate that GB is a major response to ensure environmental
sustainability. Despite all these glaring challenges and drastic measures, GB developments and sustainable
practices are embraced very slowly and practiced at slow pace in the Nigeria’s construction industry. This
is worrisome and is due to some factors affecting such pace. The aim of this paper is to identify and discuss
Green building as a concept and means of achieving environmental sustainability in Nigeria’s built
environment with a view exposing the Hindrances, the Drivers and Success Factors of GB concept and their
impacts on the Nigeria’s BE. Secondary sources of data were used to review literatures on the GB field,
which helps in identifying and narrowing the various factors that hindered, drive and make a GB
development to be successful. These were central to the discussions in this work. The research concluded
that, GB design, construction and operation is the major approach to ensure sustainable practice that ensures
sustainability of the built environment which ultimately goes in line with the United Nations’ outlined
Sustainable Development Goals.

Despite these strong fundamentals, Nigeria has found it difficult to convert her unique advantages into economic and social benefits for the country. This necessitates diversification of the economy which will require huge investments in infrastructure. In China, Nigeria has found a partner and financier. Despite the importance of Chinese finance for African infrastructure, relatively little is known and or ascertain about its socioeconomic value and impacts. The aim of this research work is to identify and discuss the socioeconomic impacts of Chinese Government Finances in Infrastructural Development Projects in Nigeria. Secondary sources of data were used to review literature. The result shows that Infrastructural Development Projects in the long run have direct influence on socioeconomic development, and the majority of economic activities depend one way or the other on road networks, airports, railway transportation systems and power generation projects.

Nigeria, like with most developing countries, ground water and rain water are the major sources of drinking water. These sources are said to be unhygienic leading to the emergence of the packaged and bottled water businesses (PBWBs). These businesses create a Socio-Economic Impact (SEI) which affects the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The aim of this research paper is to examine the SEI of PBWBs in achieving SDGs in Nigeria. Secondary sources of data were used to review literature in the relevant field. The result shows that the SEI of PBWBs creates a synergistic effect in achieving all but one of the 17 outline goals of the SDGs targets.

The World Bank while commenting on the world water challenge stated that access to water supply services and sanitation is a major factor in reducing child mortality. Water, apart from being absolutely essential for life, is also the most common, most widely distributed and most useful liquid on earth. It is the most precious natural resource that exists on our planet According to a report, Nigeria water supply situation has not kept pace in meeting the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) target of 75% coverage for safe drinking water. To achieve the MDG target, Nigeria must increase the rural population with access to improved drinking water by 33%. Packaged and bottled water businesses in Nigeria suffer from various economic challenges such as high cost of production, epileptic power supply, distribution problems, littering or environmental pollution, integrity, quality, inspection or business feasibility concerns and inefficacy of government regulatory bodies. The implementation is focusing on the regional level because of Regency and City Government are the spearhead of SDGs realization. In the study, it was found that local governments already have legal products and some efforts to empower and protect women and children. This was in accordance with Presidential Instruction No. 5 of 2014 on the National Movement of Anti-Crime against Children. In addition, cooperation between stakeholders such as women crisis center, police department, hospital, philanthropy and also mass media help to implement, monitor and evaluate the course of SDGs. Without their active role, SDG will only fail or can be achieved no more than 50%. Because success at the regional level can be a benchmark of the country's success in running SDGs.

individual project stakeholder and their willingness and ability to act either for or against the project. Therefore, failure could be perceptions of expectations not met, or promises not delivered, or the belief that the
support (resources) could be applied elsewhere. These perceptions are not necessarily based on logic, but often on the quality of the relationships between the project and its stakeholder’s. Developing countries like Nigeria need green building projects to address sustainability issues. However, such green building projects’ briefs, goals, designs and constructions are characterised by the problem of lack of shared perception and agreement on the objectives of the projects by the stakeholders involved especially the developers / clients and the end-users. The need and the cost for incorporating Green features varies among the various stake holders and by extension the various project professionals working and representing the stake holders’ interests in the project. Going by these characteristics, each
of them perceives the success according to a hierarchy of dimensions, which comply with his / her own agenda. The aim of this study is to assess the success factors for green building projects in the Nigeria’s construction industry based on the project professionals’ perceptions. Research primary data was obtained through the use of research questionnaires which were randomly distributed and were analyzed statistically using frequency counts tables, mean item score and inferential statistics. The result shows the major success factors to be convergent interests and views of success among stakeholders; end result achieved as envisioned by meeting GB project goals, performance, functionality specification, GB Technical Know How, Innovation and efforts among the built environment professionals in design and construction. In the overall analysis, the success factors significantly affect Green building developments in the Nigeria’s Built Environment.

This has led to housing shortages and the need for many housing schemes. Many Residential housing developments do not reflect the desired housing needs of the end-users in terms of satisfaction and sustainability, despite a growing interest in green buildings among the various stake holders. Previous research efforts showed that the results are still uncertain and conflicting. Nonetheless, such studies have exposed the main variables especially the human factors affecting green building projects such as different success criteria, divergent success factors and lack of common or shared perspectives among the stake holders. Incorporating green building features are at the developer’s disposal but should align with the potential end-users preferences as it affects the rentals and sales values of such developments. The aim of this paper is to explore the potentialities of using or adopting the End-users’ preferences in green building features in estate development projects in Abuja, with a view of adopting green building features that satisfies the interest of both the developers and the end-users thereby promoting green building projects. Review of literatures helps identify and narrow the residential end-users satisfaction in various housing estates and their preferred green features. A 5-point Likert scale questionnaire survey was conducted on Estate Development Firms in Abuja; selected through random sampling method. The results showed that green building features such as: Energy Efficiency systems, Building Envelope, Water efficiency systems, Indoor Environmental Quality and Day-lighting systems were the features favoured by the End-users as they are also adoptable, affordable by the developers. Conclusively, they have the potential of providing a common ground to these stakeholders in adopting green features in residential housing developments in Abuja.
