Guide entry: The Bulldozer people of Jayvee Six The Bulldozer people of Jayvee Six have a religion which is very nearly unique. Large yellow metallic creatures with a hydrocarbon-based metabolism, they believe that the whole universe was created by a composite being they call the “council planning department”. The great weight of the population has caused freak wormholes to open up near their home planet, and ambitious young bulldozers sneak out through these wormholes in search of officious little berks with clipboards in order to mindlessly do their bidding, in the belief that a clipboard is the only true sign of a genuine prophet of their gestalt god.

Mr Prosser / Bulldozer It's been a long time since anyone posted here.

I don't own Mr Prosser, and I don't own the Bulldozer. The character of Mr Prosser was created by Douglas Adams for satirical purposes, in order to pass subtle comment about mindless bureaucracy. The Bulldozer was created to knock down stuff in order to build bypasses.

I was inspired by a sentence on this community's info page which said "Some people aren't in the mood to be scared out of their sex drive by seeing graphic Mr. Prosser/bulldozer fic where they can't avoid it, so be polite and for the love of Christ on a cracker with icing and sprinkles, use a cut tag".

An update ahead of time. Because clearly I won't remember once Thursday actually rolls around. I am, in the entirety of the known universe, the worst mod ever. There is no excuse. I'm very sorry. So without further ado I present this week's theme: making an entrance

Please keep submitting! Thus far we have been getting brilliant drabbles, and I hope they keep rolling in!

The next update will be on the 20th.

Hi, I'm new! Okay, I've written some random (and lame...)hitchhiker drabbles before, and since it's been so quiet here, I might just post one! :P (Sorry, I don't know how to LJ-cut yet...)

Characters: Ford, Arthur Version: Book-verse/Tv-verse Setting: before the world ends sometime... Challenge: None! Sorry...

“Look, Ford, a shooting star! Make a wish!”

Arthur pointed at the sky excitedly from where he lay on the ground. They’d left the pub and found the park in giggles.

“What’s that?” inquired Ford. “Why a wish?”

“You’re supposed to make one,” whined Arthur. “Don’t you know?”

Ford shook his head.

“You don’t know twinkle-twinkle?”

“No,” Ford sighed. “What’s it mean?”

Arthur looked confused. “…You can’t seriously not know. I mean, everyone _knows_…”

Silence.

“God, Ford! Were you born on Mars, or under a rock?”

Ford grinned wide, staring at the stars.

“Mars is peanuts to where _I_’m from…”

New challenge! This week's challenge is very broad, and can be interpreted any way you like: Art.

Anything to do with art. Mention famous artists, visit museums, create paintings, doodle aimlessly, whatever. Go crazy!

Edit: The next challenge will be up on Thursday, the 28th of July. All entries will be accepted until then.

Challenge and Apologies School decided to slam me pretty hard for the past week, along with other things that've cropped up. I'm very sorry.

Okay, so new challenge? You Can Never Go Home Again.

Write about childhood friends or memories, talk about Arthur remembering Earth, or even Ford remembering Betelgeuse, or whatever you can think of. It just has to involve the idea of home and never being able to go back to the way things were. That sort of thing.

Bon appetit!

Challenge! First, the apologies. I'm sorry, I've been terribly busy over the past few days. Meant to post a new challenge, but haven't been able to get around to it until today...

The Mood challenge is closed. Thank you to emcue, mactink, and johncoxon for their entries.

Okay, the new challenge is Towels. Take that as you will. Assignment due on June 9th.

Just as a note, the First Lines challenge is still ongoing until June 2nd. (Yes, I realize the original assignment was due June 1st, but now that I'm planning on issuing challenges on Thursdays, I'm pushing it back.)

Good luck and happy drabbling!

New HHGG Community! I have just created hhgg_fanfiction as a place to write HHGG fanfiction which doesn't belong on guideslash on hitchhiker100, both of which I have linked to in the userinfo.

This is to try and encourage a greater variety of fic-writing here on LiveJournal.
