I just found this community, and I LOVE the idea behind it.
Fly/Scrim Sheet: $17.50
Hunter or Navy
I bought one of these last week to throw over my boy at spring/summer/fall shows. Very much worth $25 (when you add in the shipping.)

Now, I know I'm not the only one who bargain-shops. Please don't hesitate to post if you know of any tack shops, local or otherwise, with sales! If you are having trouble posting, go to the "User Info" link at the top of the page and click on the pencil icon.
RJ Classics Hunt Coat
TheRidersShoppe.com
Medium Navy with Brick Pinstriping
Size 4R
$99.95
Other RJ Classics hunt coats are priced inexpensively as well at $99.00 on this website.
The Tack Room is definitely a site to watch if you like the R.J. Classics hunt coats. This website carries many of the R.J. hunt coats at great prices. Check back often because their stock is continually being updated. Service from this website is wonderful; I purchased an R.J. from them several months ago and was very pleased. My one gripe with this site is that their images are not always the best, so try to get images from other websites before you purchase to make sure that you're happy with the color.
The Tack Room is also holding a sale on:
Beaufort Hunt Coats
Brown Tone-on-Tone and Olive
$50.00
RJ Classics Devon Hunt Coat- Worsted Wool
Fairly Stable (at Yahoo! shops)
Slate Blue Plaid
Size 8L
$110.00
RJ Classics Devon Hunt Coat- Poly Blend
Fairly Stable (at Yahoo! shops)
Navy
Sizes 0-8R
$65.00
This is RJ's "entry-level" hunt coat as it is not full wool. I have never personally tried this coat and so do not know how it holds up in comparison to the full wool RJs.
Assorted other hunt coats can be found on sale at Fairly Stable.
RJ Classics Devon Hunt Coat
M&M Tack Shop
French Blue
Sizes 8, 20
$99.00
Tailored Sportsman Stockbridge Hunt Coat
M&M Tack Shop
Tan/Gray with Light Blue Plaid
Size 10
$70.00
For those of you unfamiliar with the Tailored Sportsman hunt coats, they are some of my very favorites. They are beautifully made and very flattering. Alas, they tend to be very expensive- $300++.
Grand Prix Elite Hunt Coat
M&M Tack Shop
Navy Herringbone
Size 10S
$100.00
There is only one of these hunt coats left at this shop! As forewarning, M&M's pictures are, to put it bluntly, lousy; they are taken outside and so, between shadow and glare, they do not accurately reflect the colors of the coats. I would definitely recommend Googling to find other pictures of these hunt coats. As a warning if you have never purchased Grand Prix coats before- their sizing is different from other brands such as RJ Classics. As an example, a 6R in an RJ might well be a 12L in a Grand Prix. Guesstimating, a 10S in a Grand Prix would probably be equivalent to a 4 or 4S in an RJ. Grands Prix are beautiful coats although they tend to be tailored for the tall and slim and for those of us who are not willowy, the proper size through the body may be too long. If you have never worn a Grand Prix coat I would definitely run to the tack shop and try them on before purchasing them over the internet since the sizes are so variant, instead of just ordering the same size coat that you wear now.

Well, to get the party started, marystack.com has some really great sales right now, including Beval Italia LTD Sheepskin-Lined Boots. Both the open-front and hind ankle style are in stock. The website says that the open-front style is available in Large and X-Large, but when I contacted Mary's Tack they said that they were sold out of the Large open-fronts- which I know because apparently I bought the last pair! The boots are currently sitting next to me and the craftsmanship on them is beautiful. They cost me a little over $120 to purchase and ship.

Hello everybody, and welcome to Bargain Hunter-Jumpers. I started this LJ community because, let's face it, tack is expensive. I'm a tack connoisseur, and I'm always looking for bargain tack, because while I've got champagne tastes, my budget covers, well, fountain drinks.
Hence, Bargain Hunter-Jumpers. Found a good deal on a piece of tack? Post it here! Looking for an item? Ask around; maybe someone will be able to find it in your price bracket. Consider this your internet tack room.
