were you beat up by a kunoichi? (original) (raw)
Were you deceived by a kunoichi?

01. How far have you gotten in the Naruto series?
I have seen only as far as the Country of Tea filler episodes. I am up-to-date with the manga though, via downloadable scanlations. (Sends hearts and love to Shannaro and Inane for without them, I shall be sadly deprived!)
02. Which part of the series was your favorite? Why?
Oh boy, there's a lot! The Team 7 bells test, the chakra training in the forest, the Naruto-Neji final exam skirmish, the entire Gaara-Shukaku arc, the Konoha jounins vs. Itachi & Kisame, the unmask Kakashi-sensei episode...hmm. That is almost the entire series, isn't it? :D
But for purposes of just picking one, I shall choose the Legendary Sannin arc. Jiraiya has always piqued my interest the moment he poofed out in the hot springs; I remembered wondering who that character is and how he was able to do the five elements unseal, which would remove the five elements seal done by a powerful ninja who was Orochimaru, because he's the only other powerful shinobi we know during those moments. (Note that during this time, I haven't read ahead of the manga, so I was all sitting there in anticipation and excitement.)
This part also ties in wonderfully with Orochimaru's character; it was interesting to see why he became like that. Then imagine my surprise that there's another person as equally powerful as they are, and she's a kunoichi (*dingding*)! And the fact that they were all students of the Sandaime Hokage...really, my fandom heart just skipped with joy imagining young Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru during their genin days. Did they get along (fairly) well and had a good teamwork? Did they challenge each other to fights, much like Lee and Neji? Ahh.
03. Who is your favorite character? Why?:
Okay, so I will admit to have looked at other applications, and since I see they picked more than one...*jumps*
I always look forward to seeing Kakashi and Jiraiya, both on screen and on paperback. I like how they are both very skilled (obviously, there is a difference, but I shall not delve into that here) and yet still have time for their, ahem, extracurricular activities. I also like how they can be funny during their "non-working days/moments" but are totally into doing everything they can, even if the opportunity comes in a quite impromptu manner.
And the fact that they are connected through sensei generations amuses my fangirl heart.
And I must include how Gaara has an itty bit of space in my heart because he did have a really horrible childhood after all, and the fact that despite this (and after Naruto has given his speech), he has apologized to his brother & sister and tried to make him and things better, and even became a person who would protect his village, even at the cost of his life, as all kages do. So because of this, he
cannot mustn't die. :(
04. Who is your least favorite character? Why?:
At the moment, I don't understand the Sasori love. Maybe it's because the backstory hasn't been laid out yet, but I can't find anything likeable about him at the moment. Deidara too, s/he doesn't seems to be anything but someone who seems too energetic and enthusiastic. =\
05. Name a pairing you "ship," and explain why. (If you don't ship anything, try ShikaTem. NO WE'RE NOT BEING BIASED):
I have just recently entered anime/manga online fandom-ing (offline used to be much easier) and so I am still ship-less. I don't think I'll be a shipper of anything Naruto, but I do think ShikaTem isn't impossible. :P Now, this isn't for sucking up purposes! Shikamaru has a teeny aversion (or maybe it's just an amusing-slash-annoying thing to him?) of how his mother is all domineering and wonders why his father is all submissive and allows it, and it would be a nice play by the irony gods (or god, and that will be Masashi Kishimoto) if he does end up with alpha female Temari.
But okay, as for my pairing...well, I do like the Jiraiya/Tsunade interactions. Yes, please gasp in shock over how I seem to be all over the Sannin. I mean, they're friends, they know each other well (probably down to the smallest quirks) but it's terribly amusing how they must be at each other's throats at times. And again, I think of how they went during their growing up days...w00t.
06. Would you prefer to be especially skilled in ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu? Why?:
Definitely ninjutsu, because it encompasses almost everything that a shinobi must learn. I mean, almost all of the powerful techniques used in the Naruto universe are ninjutsu, and honestly, who doesn't want to be flashy and powerful? ;) Also, you can use it both for long-range and short-range attacks and defenses, unlike genjutsu and taijutsu, which can only be utilized in close-range combats.
07. A teammate of yours has been kidnapped during an important mission. Do you go on with the mission or do you save your teammate first? Explain why YOUR FRIEND IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE RULE BOOK:
Rule book? Tsch, rules are (sometimes) meant to be broken, yo. ;)
And besides, friends are one in a million, as cliche as that sounds. It's not something you make in a short span of time, in few chance moments of interaction. And let's say that that person has been my teammate since my genin days...just imagining the number of missions and challenges we have hurdled through together is enough reason to trash that rule book to mental oblivion, at least for the time being.
08. What do you think of the rule restricting shinobi from showing their emotions? (YAY KAKASHI QUESTION):
I agree with that, to a certain extent. Heightened emotions are without any use, even prove to be damaging, during important missions. Say your teammate was badly injured and in a near death state, and you still have an enemy to go through to escape -- what help would crying and wailing in grief do at that moment if you'll both end up dead in the end and therefore will never be seen by people who care for both you? Also, say you're all shaking and tearing up over a person you have to kill...well, all the delay might end up with you being killed, along with your teammates (or you could be a burden if they're still alive and you're the one badly injured).
But I don't see the reason why emotions should never be shown. Emotions doesn't make a person weak, it makes one human. And besides, bottling it all up inside is damaging to your psychological health. :D
09. Are shinobi merely tools for other people to use, or should they go about their own way of living? Elaborate:
I think that anyone, whether they be shinobi or not, should never be defined and used as tools for others. There are things that come along with the job description (ie. gardening, spying, killing) but I think that if you don't feel right about what you are being asked to do, then there is no reason why you have to let go of your personal ethics and beliefs.
10. How far do you think you'll get (position-wise: Genin, Chuunin, Jounin, Anbu)?
Um...hopefully something high (above the clouds)? :D There is no "Be A Genin Forever!" choice anyway, so anything the Daimyo think would be good for the comm. :)
11. How did you find out about the community (member username, from another community, interest search, etc)? Referred via chuunin. It was punk_goth_churn who posted there, if I'm not mistaken.
