This week, Brian Niccol assumed the role of chairman and chief executive officer. In an open letter to partners (employees), customers and stakeholders, he shared an early vision to get Starbucks back to Starbucks. It refocuses the company on what has always set it apart - a welcoming coffeehouse where people gather, and where we serve the finest handcrafted coffee. We’re thrilled to welcome him as he spends time in our stores and support centers around the globe. Explore his full letter here: https://lnkd.in/gS-VNECx - In Earth Month 2024, Starbucks Asia Pacific launched exciting competitions to drive reusables adoption across 15 markets in the region. Our "Reuse! I can!" theme this year inspired our passionate store partners to drive sustainable initiatives and reinforce the brand’s commitment to give more than we take from the planet. It is exciting to see our partners capture their great work and tell their stories through these fantastic reusables videos, showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability. The engagement from partners and customers using reusables helped us to reach close to 30% reusable adoption rate and saved over 30 million single-use cups! We're so proud of the efforts and engagement from our passionate partners and customers. Check out this video to learn more. Together, we can do so much more #Sustainability #Reuse

We announced Starbucks first certified Greener Store in India, located in Ayali Kalan in Punjab, as Greener Store of the Year in Asia Pacific. The Ayali Kalan store was identified from a shortlist of finalists including Greener Stores from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. These stores are part of the over 6,000 certified Greener Stores in more than 40 markets globally that help advance the company’s goal to reduce carbon emissions, water usage and landfill waste by 50% in 2030. Starbucks has set an ambitious global goal of certifying 10,000 Greener Stores by 2025 and we are on track to meet that goal. The Ayali Kalan Greener Store features an electrical vehicle (EV) charging station, a rainwater harvesting system to support water conservation, and distributes its used coffee grounds to be used as fertilizer in surrounding developments. In addition to using energy and water-efficient equipment, the building is constructed using local clay bricks, advanced insulation, abundant glazing for natural daylight, and large roof overhangs with a high solar reflectance index to minimize heat gain. Congratulations to @Sushant Dash and the partners in Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam for this achievement and a big thank you to all our partners in Asia Pacific for their commitment to our environmental promise - to give more than we take.#GreenerStores #Sustainability https://lnkd.in/g_MBsywv
