Scouting report
Eric Gordon: I wanted a chance to win, and Philly felt like the right spot. I’m familiar with their front office, Daryl Morey and them, and I looked at their team, and it’s like, man, they got Maxey, who’s really evolved. Embiid, obviously, is one of the best players in the world. Then you got Kelly Oubre and Caleb Martin, and you’re looking at a team that could really have a shot. And then you got me, to knock down shots and help create when those guys are creating. It’s a great situation, man. We have all the pieces to do something special this year.”

Eric Gordon: “I was supposed to sign a max deal with LA, like, right then and there. And then that’s when we had the lockout. Once we got back from that, they were promising me, ‘You’re going to be here for five years,’ this and that. The trade was done; it was supposed to be Bledsoe, Kaman, and Al-Farouq Aminu. And then, once they backed out of it, David Stern probably went to the GM, and they just threw me in there, and the rest was history. I was a little confused, and I was younger too. When I got to New Orleans, I wanted to do well, but I had already gotten injured. And people down there thought I just didn’t give a damn or anything while I was down there.”
As Eric Gordon now heads to Philadelphia, he will now be playing with superstar big man Joel Embiid. Gordon is no stranger to playing with stars as he has played with the likes of Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and others in the past. “Well, I think he’ll be the most dominant or dominant big that’ll be my teammate,” Gordon laughed. “I’ve had AD before, Blake Griffin during his good time. I mean, I’ve had a lot of good bigs, but he’s very dynamic.”
