Harry Potter fans from in and around St. Louis (original) (raw)

Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry this is so late. I meant to make this post last week but time completely got away from me. Sorry!

Anyway, the midnight release for Half-Blood Prince is, as I'm sure you all know, tomorrow. hp_stlouis will be meeting for dinner at the Chevy's Mexican Restaurant in the St. Louis Mills Mall at 9PM. If you're planning on joining us, I really need you to RSVP by filling out the poll below.

Will you be joining us for dinner at Chevy's prior to the midnight show of HBP?

If you're not attending dinner but are still wanting to meet for the film, please indicate that below.

I will NOT be at dinner but will be at the movie

Please let me know how many folks will be joining you for dinner so we can get a headcount for seating. We are planning on heading over to the theatre around 10PM, so if you're not coming to dinner but still want to see the film with us, you'll need to let us know so we can hold seats for you.

Thank you in advance, sorry again for the short notice, and I hope to see you all there!

Hello!

I wanted to let everyone know that you can indeed purchase tickets to the midnight release at the St. Louis Mills Regal 18 Theatre box office if you want to avoid the ridiculous service charges that Fandango adds on. It's not always a viable option for folks to drive out there to get the tickets in person, but if you're short on money (like me!) I wanted to at least put the option out there.

Also, just a reminder that I'm trying to get a headcount for the Midnight Release festivities so if you are thinking about attending HBP with us at the Mills, please go vote IN THIS POST.

Thanks!

Hi, guys and gals! It's getting close to the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, as damn_imasquib so helpfully reminded me, so I figured I'd better get a post up to see who all was interested in attending the midnight release with us.

As usual, we will be seeing the film at the theatre at the St. Louis Mills Mall (Regal St. Louis Mills Stadium 18). Tickets are available through Fandango (here), but might also be available at the box office at the Mills. I will check on Wednesday when my brother drags me to see Transformers and will make another post at that time. :-P

We are also planning on having dinner at the Chevy's in the mall beforehand, but those details can all be worked out a bit later. What I need right now is an initial headcount, so if you're thinking about going at all, please vote yes.

Are you thinking about going to the midnight release of HBP with hp_stlouis?

Thanks!

I know some of you aren't going, but is anyone going to Azkatraz that needs a roommate/room?

I have a room but I REALLY don't want to have to shell out for it all by myself.

Just a reminder that we will be meeting tomorrow, Sunday, February 15th at 12:30PM at the Steak N Shake outside the St. Louis Mills for lunch, then heading over to the theatre in the Mills for a 2:15PM viewing of Coraline.

If you're wanting to join us but haven't yet RSVPed, please do so in THIS POST by 11AM tomorrow so I can make sure we have a place for you at lunch. Tickets for the movie can be purchased from Fandango by going here.

See you tomorrow!

NOTE: Comments on this post are disabled. Please direct all comments to the post I linked above. Thanks!

Yet another Coraline post, this time to let you know that there's really only one workable movie time, so it's not so much a vote on which you'd prefer but rather a way to do a final RSVP. :)

Coraline is showing at the Mills on Sunday at 2:15PM. Tickets can be purchased in advance here and will cost $9.25 due to the 3D technology. I was thinking that we could meet at the Steak N Shake (since I didn't hear anyone complain) at 12:30PM and then go see the film afterward. So. Please RSVP if you'll be joining us!

Will you be joining us for lunch and a movie on Sunday?

I hope to see you all there!

(Btw, damn_imasquib, there is a 2:25PM showtime for Hotel for Dogs, too. I KNOW Mitchell is excited. :D)

After seeing the previous poll results, we are going to go ahead with seeing Coraline this coming Sunday. Yay!

Now, I have a very important question, prefaced by a statement. hp_stlouis's theatre of choice is the one at the St. Louis Mills, so hopefully this is okay with everyone.

I thought it might be a good idea to eat lunch before the movie so that we can get to know each other a bit more. Sitting in a theatre is not exactly conducive to introductions and conversation, after all. :D If you're planning on attending the movie on Sunday, please vote in the poll below.

Interested in eating beforehand?

If the answer is yes, I was thinking we could maybe eat at the Steak N' Shake that's right out front of the Mills. Let me know in comments if you'd prefer something else, though; it was just the first thing that popped into my head. :)

I will be making another post on Wednesday with potential movie times, so keep a lookout for that.

Thanks!

I have been meaning to make this post this entire week and kept forgetting. Oops!

Anyway, I've come up with a tentative date to see Coraline, and wanted to see if it would work for everyone. If you are wanting to see Coraline with hp_stlouis, please fill out this poll. Thank you!

Would you be available for a daytime (matinee) showing of Coraline on Sunday, February 15th?

If you said no: Could you please leave me a comment with a date that would work better for you? I am completely open, and I know it's Valentine's Day weekend, so it may not be a good time, but it was the first opportunity I could see for us.

Thanks, again!

So. *blows away dust* It's been a while, hasn't it?

I figured with the upcoming release of Half-Blood Prince that I might try to get this community a tad more active. And what better way to do that then to discuss the possibility of seeing a film based off a book by one of fandom's most popular authors, Neil Gaiman?

Coraline is supposed to be released in theatres on February 6th (assuming one can believe IMDb). I'm just trying to gauge interest in seeing it (I believe it's going to be released in 3D, if that will influence your response at all, but I might be wrong so please don't quote me!), hence my old standby, a poll. :D

Would you be interested in seeing Coraline with some other hp_stlouis folk?

The response I get to this will determine if we continue making plans via the community or take it to email. I can be reached at anemonerose[at]livejournal[dot]com if you have any questions, or you can leave a comment here.

Thanks!

Just wondering...

Are there any Harry Potter fan clubs in St. Louis area that have regular meetings? I'd love to be a part of a club like this...
