annearchy: Fun happening on Sunday, July 9th

WHEN: Sunday, July 9th, 2:00 p.m.
WHERE: University Bookstore, Hilldale Mall (Midvale Avenue at University Avenue)
WHAT: a musical performance
WHO: Harry and the Potters, with opening act Draco and the Malfoys

I saw Harry and the Potters last fall at The Witching Hour and they're a lot of fun to watch. According to their website, they're now doing a longish national tour, mostly playing at bookstores and public libraries, though they did play at The Knitting Factory (a pretty cool venue) in New York City a few nights ago. I probably should already know about Draco and the Malfoys but I didn't. Sorry about posting this so late -- I just saw it in today's newspaper.

Hope to see some of you guys there.

Hey does anyone know of any other IMAX theaters in WI, besides the Humphrey IMAX Dome Theater in Milwaukee? Much to my dismay it appears that they will be playing 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' the week that HP GoF comes out. :( I was really hoping to catch a midnight showing in IMAX.

Speaking of which are people planning on going to midnight showings on opening day (er... night before) ? We went to a midnight showing of the last one and it was a blast, people were all dressed up and they had trivia and prizes. If you are planning on going - where abouts? I live in the Appleton area and I have my fingers crossed that it will be playing on our Ultra-Screen, but I would be willing to travel to MIlwuakee or perhaps Madison if people want to meet up. :)

gwynlen: I feel this may be too late, but..

Does anyone know if you need to pre-order the book in order to get a copy at one of the Midnight Release Parties? Specifically, the Barnes and Noble one? A friend and I are planning to attend, yet neither of us has pre-ordered, assuming we could just wait in line. Does anyone know how this is gonna work?

annearchy: Update on HBP parties in Wisconsin

There will be at least 19 HBP parties in Wisconsin on June 15-16.

So...everybody know what they'll be doing on that evening? I'll be at Barnes & Noble at East Towne in Madison. It's closest to my house, it's where I've reserved my hardback copy of HBP, and where my daughter (almost 9) wants to attend the party. She has this wild idea we're gonna stay till 1:00 a.m. Personally I'll be happy to go there earlier, party, stand on line -- then grab my copy of the book and race back home to start reading. What about you guys?
