Home – Have a Heart Washoe County (original) (raw)
We’re excited to share that Have a Heart Washoe has a brand-new name, a fresh new look, and a new online home! Say hello to FAM: Foster, Adopt, Mentor. We have the same heart and same mission, but with a new identity that reflects who we are and where we’re headed.
Our campaign is still all about supporting children, youth and families through fostering, adoption, and mentorship. What’s new is our name, our vibe, and our commitment to making an even greater impact. We’ve simply grown into something more us!
What’s New:
- A new name: FAM (because we’re all about family in every form)
- A new website: updated, easier to navigate, and packed with helpful information and resources
- The same passion for kids, families, and our community
Check out our new site and explore what’s next by clicking the link: www.bethefam.washoecounty.gov
As the community learns about this transition, information about fostering, adopting, and mentoring will remain available on this current site for a little while longer to help make things as smooth as possible.
Adopt
Help children become members of a family that can give them the love, care, protection and opportunities essential for their healthy personal growth and development.
Foster
There are approximately 800 children in the Washoe County Human Services Agency Foster System and fewer than 400 foster families. You can make a difference in a child’s life.
Mentor
Just an hour or more of your time each week can make a huge difference to a foster child. As a mentor, you will become a role model and friend to them. Start making a difference today.
Our Foster Families are extremely cherished! Here we spotlight our local foster families, as they are the true heroes to the children in their homes, and the heart of our agency!
