Welcome to the Hercules, Xena and Young Hercules fan fiction challenge community!

This community has been modeled on the sga_flashfic community and will follow roughly the same rules. The biggest exception is that hxyh_challenge is even more freeform - all forms of fanfic can be requested for a challenge, from flashfic to drabbles to epics. (We should be so lucky as to get epics.)

Challenges will be posted once a week in an ADMIN post, and you then have seven days to respond to the challenge.

Please suggest challenges! Challenge suggestions should be posted in the comments section of previous ADMIN posts.

A challenge can be anything: a picture, a word, a combination of characters, themes, moods. You can suggest a specific plot or genre cliché. If you wish, you can also suggest a specific form: drabble, flashfic, even haiku. Anything goes!

All ratings and pairings, slash, gen, het, you name it, are welcome here, as long as the conditions of the challenge are answered. The story must be set in the Hercules, Xena and/or Young Hercules universe (including mirrorverses, AU, futurefic).

For the convenience of the Archivists, please use the following format for the subject line of your post:
"[Title]" by [Your author name], [Rating], [Challenge].

For example: "Salmoneus For President" by Evil Anon, PG-13, Politics challenge.

Stories will be archived in the memories section by challenge name.

Please use a cut tag if your challenge response is longer than a paragraph or so, or if it is non-worksafe. Pairings, warnings, and other information are appreciated but not required. Caveat lector.

Regardless of the length of your story, please only post it in a single part -- the Livejournal limit on post size is very large. If your story exceeds that size or needs special formatting, please feel free to post it as a separate webpage and post a link to the webpage instead.
