Everyday life offers new things, conditions and challenges that can affect the field of fiqh. As ... more Everyday life offers new things, conditions and challenges that can affect the field of fiqh. As people face complex life, they demand further answer and explanation on how Islam deal with those issues. One which raise questions is the case of najs removal as it lies in central position of prayers. It becomes the foundation that determines whether the worship practice is lawful or not. This paper discusses the types of an-najs in al-fiqh al-Islamiyy and various methods of removing najs both classically and contemporary/modern, by providing accounts from the fiqh al-ḣadîṡ. By addressing this issue, this article aims at giving explanation on how fiqh on removal progresses following the context and is accommodating contemporary developments of Muslims' lives.

Dengan menggunakan Pendekatan Sejarah menemukan fakta bahwa Paradigma Peneliti Barat yang meneliti Islam secara global dan hadis tertentu memberi pengalaman yang signifikan. Implikasi Perubahan Paradigma membuat Peneliti Barat dalam belajar hadis lebih objektif dan proporsional.

Falsehood (bid'ah) becomes an interesting study for Moslem scholars especially on the matters of ... more Falsehood (bid'ah) becomes an interesting study for Moslem scholars especially on the matters of worship and ritual practices. The committee of tarjîh al-Qur'ân justifies falsehood by referring to H{ adith used as the guide and method. The interpretative result toward the h} adith causes different perspective among Moslem scholars. There are three important points that will be elucidated in this article: first what method uses MTA in conceiving h} adith in relation with falsehood, second how MTA perspective of bid'ah, and third is reconstruction the h} adith bid'ah according to MTA. MTA explains that what is called bid'ah in prophet's h} adith is bid'ah in the matter of religion (worship) that certainly misleading. Yet, the falsehood in relation with worldly matter for MTA must be given a space to branch out as long as it gives positive impact and push people creativity in general meaning. It is suitable with prophet's h} adith said that "man sanna sunnah h} asanah..... man sanna sunnah sayyiah...". In this condition, MTA indirectly admits the variant of the bid'ah. But the ordinary classification differs with the ulama's classification either in terms of mutaqadimîn or muta'akhirîn, in general point of view, otherwise the classification is in contrary with the religious matters and worldly matters.

This article attempts to show that hermeneutics as an approach in understanding the Qur‟an has be... more This article attempts to show that hermeneutics as an approach in understanding the Qur‟an has been available in Ulum al-Qur‟an (the science of the Qur‟an). Hermeneutics is the art of interpreting the text. It is a theory imported from the West and has been implemented mostly to interpret the Bible. Many scholars who implemented this approach to investigate the Bible showed that Bible is no longer original and many alteration have been made to it. Thus, how could this approach be implemented to understand the Qur‟an? Will it reduce the divinity of the Qur‟an? This article shows that In fact if we look at the meaning of the hermeneutics as stated above, the procedural aspects in understanding the Qur‟an have been available in ulumul Qur‟an. The science of the Qur‟an has proven that the Qur‟an is sacred and divine. It is revealed from God to Muhammad through Jibril. Teoritersebut telah digunakan dalamkajian Bible yang hasilkesimpulannyaialah Bible itutidakasli, lalubagaimanadenganAlquransebagaiobjekkajianHermeneutika yang ditawarkanolehpemikirbarat. Perkembangan tradisi penafsiran dari masa ke masa menghasilkan produk tafsir dengan berbagai pend... more Perkembangan tradisi penafsiran dari masa ke masa menghasilkan produk tafsir dengan berbagai pendekatan, metodologi, dan corak tafsir yang berbeda. Pada zaman sekarang, perbedaan model penafsiran tersebut ditandai dengan rekonstruksi terhadap tradisi penafsiran klasik karena dianggap tidak lagi relevan untuk menjawab persoalan kekinian. Wahbah al-Zuhaili sebagai salah seorang mufassir kontemporer, menampik hal tersebut dengan menyuguhkan berbagai produk tafsirnya tanpa memutus tradisi penafsiran klasik. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari penafsirannya tentang ayat poligami yang komprehensif tanpa meninggalkan tradisi klasik, sehingga sangat relevan dengan kondisi kekinian. Poligami merupakan syari'at Islam sebagai bentuk penghormatan terhadap perempuan, bukan sebagai hal yang tabu dan hina. Sehingga bagi laki-laki, poligami tidak dimaknai sebagai perintah yang melegitimasi kenginan hawa nafsunya, tetapi Islam membolehkan poligami sebagai respon terhadap keadaan darurat ataupun kebutuhan mendesak, seperti istri mengalami kemandulan, di suatu negara populasi perempaun lebih dominan, dan tentang kondisi seksualitas istri yang tidak mampu melayani suami lagi. Walaupun demikian dalam melakukan poligami harus tetap memperhatikan batasan-batasan seperti memiliki kemampuan untuk menafkahi, berlaku adil terhadap seluruh istri, interaksi yang baik.

In addition, it discussed also give scientific dialogue between them so that gave birth to the monumental works from both sides. Using the approach of history, retrieved the fact that Western scholar's paradigm of looking at and examining Islam in General and the Hadith in particular experienced a significant shift. The implications of the paradigm shift that makes Western scholars in the study the Hadith more objective and porposional.

applied in MTA (Majelis Tafsir Al-Qur’an) for reading and understanding hadith
on heresy (bid’ah)? Second, how is the aplication process for the hadith among
MTA’s activist? Third, what is the criticism of the hadith among MTA’s activist?
Using topical approach, this reseacrh will focus on expalining and criticizing the
hadith which is normally used and regularly apllied by MTA to discuss and criticize
heresy (bid’ah). It is also to reconstruct the understanding of MTA on the hadith
of heresy, by examining authenticity of matan (text) and sanad.

Pada zaman sekarang, perbedaan model penafsiran tersebut ditandai dengan rekonstruksi terhadap tradisi penafsiran klasik karena dianggap tidak lagi relevan untuk menjawab persoalan kekinian. Falsehood (bid'ah) becomes an interesting study for Moslem scholars especially on the matters of ... more Falsehood (bid'ah) becomes an interesting study for Moslem scholars especially on the matters of worship and ritual practices. The committee of tarjîh al-Qur'ân justifies falsehood by referring to H{ adith used as the guide and method. The interpretative result toward the h} adith causes different perspective among Moslem scholars. There are three important points that will be elucidated in this article: first what method uses MTA in conceiving h} adith in relation with falsehood, second how MTA perspective of bid'ah, and third is reconstruction the h} adith bid'ah according to MTA. MTA explains that what is called bid'ah in prophet's h} adith is bid'ah in the matter of religion (worship) that certainly misleading. Yet, the falsehood in relation with worldly matter for MTA must be given a space to branch out as long as it gives positive impact and push people creativity in general meaning. It is suitable with prophet's h} adith said that "man sanna sunnah h} asanah..... man sanna sunnah sayyiah...". In this condition, MTA indirectly admits the variant of the bid'ah. But the ordinary classification differs with the ulama's classification either in terms of mutaqadimîn or muta'akhirîn, in general point of view, otherwise the classification is in contrary with the religious matters and worldly matters.

This article attempts to show that hermeneutics as an approach in understanding the Qur‟an has be... more This article attempts to show that hermeneutics as an approach in understanding the Qur‟an has been available in Ulum al-Qur‟an (the science of the Qur‟an). Hermeneutics is the art of interpreting the text. It is a theory imported from the West and has been implemented mostly to interpret the Bible. Many scholars who implemented this approach to investigate the Bible showed that Bible is no longer original and many alteration have been made to it. Thus, how could this approach be implemented to understand the Qur‟an? Will it reduce the divinity of the Qur‟an? This article shows that In fact if we look at the meaning of the hermeneutics as stated above, the procedural aspects in understanding the Qur‟an have been available in ulumul Qur‟an. The science of the Qur‟an has proven that the Qur‟an is sacred and divine. It is revealed from God to Muhammad through Jibril. Thus, there is no question of putting the Qur‟an less divine if we implement hermeneutical approach. applied in MTA (Majelis Tafsir Al-Qur’an) for reading and understanding hadith
on heresy (bid’ah)? Second, how is the aplication process for the hadith among
MTA’s activist? Third, what is the criticism of the hadith among MTA’s activist?
Using topical approach, this reseacrh will focus on expalining and criticizing the
hadith which is normally used and regularly apllied by MTA to discuss and criticize
heresy (bid’ah). It is also to reconstruct the understanding of MTA on the hadith
of heresy, by examining authenticity of matan (text) and sanad.
