These floods we're having in Australia are horrible at the moment. Right now, more than 75% of Qld is underwater (colours dots) and the top of NSW is begining to flood. Luckily Sydney, where I live, is full of hills and it's extreemly unlikely that we'll see any flooding (thank God), but by the end of the weekend it's expected that most of NSW, Victoria and Tasmia will be flooded too.

Australia is a beautiful country to live in but we get every single sort of weather imaginable, and not in small doses. Queensland especially. We don't do things in halves, and neither does our weather. The floods have been decribed on our tv here as an 'inland tsunami' because out of knowhere a giant 8 metre (26 foot) high wave came crashing through the towns.

The news played a video of a man trying to rescue some horses a little while ago and I almost lost it. 12 people are dead, over 100 missing and it's only day 2 of floods that will last for more than a week.
