A well-structured incubation program may lead the startup from idea generation stage to setting up the business and most crucial funding support. Analysis of effectiveness of training programme was done using primary as well as secondary data. Progress report of the institute and primary information from the trainees were matched to reach usefulness of the training programme. The primary data was collected during August, 2019 to January 2020 with partial structured pre-scheduled interview. For the ICAR-BPD trainees there was no substantial variation in age or land ownership, implying that the comparison on certain dimensions could be due to the training programme rather than underlying human attributes. The ICAR-BPD trainees were mainly attempting to obtain government employment and were often unaware of the training and other resources available to help ...

Efficiency in marketing system can be improved by identifying the constraints faced by farmers and formulating appropriate strategy to ameliorate the constraints. A study was conducted to find out the constraints faced by NERAMAC (North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited) as an organization and the fruits growers in Assam. The results showed that the NERAMAC beneficiaries of fruit crop growers ranked less intensity of advisory services and storage of harvested produce as the first and foremost major constraints in fruit production and marketing. The non-beneficiaries ranked fluctuating market price and finding appropriate market price of produces as first and second constraint, respectively. Lack of proper management of work and poor cooperation at grass-root level were the prominent organizational and functional constraint

The study conducted in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir state revealed that the farmers’ adoption level of seed component of field crops and plant protection components of fruit crops were found to be low. Most of the respondents reported high level of training needs with respect to training and pruning, field sanitation, weed management, selection of fruit plants and diseases management. The farmers’ characteristics like family occupation, land holding, economic motivation, innovation proneness and information sources utilization were found to be positively and significantly associated with their training needs. The farmers’ preferences regarding training programme organization included one week duration, more focus on practical aspects with demonstration method and organization of training in...

Both in developing and developed countries, family farming is the predominant form of agriculture in the food production sector. Family farmers carefully manage their lands to sustain remarkably high levels of productivity despite having less access to productive resources such as agricultural inputs and support. Agricultural and rural growth also benefit the poor in urban areas, due to the abundance and proximity of food.

Farmer participatory research is used to improve the collaboration and communication between farmers and scientists in agricultural research so as to ensure that research findings are relevant to farmers' needs and applicable within their biophysical and socioeconomic environments. With assistance from the moderators, farmers themselves discover answers and solutions during informal discussions for their problems. This study was undertaken following the sequential steps namely; participatory problem diagnosis, participatory search for solutions, testing of suitable technological interventions at farmers' fields, regular monitoring of the trials and assessing the impact of the interventions. Research interventions for adaptation and verification of potential technologies under local conditions were tested on participating farmers' fields jointly managed by researchers and farmers. The results in terms of spike length, number of grains/ spike, grain yield, and total dry matter produced were significantly higher in the tested technologies as compared to farmers' practices. The perceptions of participating farmers as well as non-participating farmers were sought on the methodology of technology refinement, and it was found that majority of the farmers were observed to be highly satisfied and expressed their willingness to participate in the process of on-farm research.

that facilitate information sharing. Even in the era of modern information revolution strong linkage of contact for family
member, neighbour and progressive farmers as information sources is prevalent and farmers generally are reported to be
less aware of ICT tools. In order to appropriately target extension programs and advisory services, it is therefore important
to understand the access and use of information by the farmers. The present study conducted in Hathin Tehsil of Palwal district, showed that At field level, presence of governmental development bodies was found to be minimal, that too in advocacy and one way information supplier kind of linkage . The findings shows that still the personal sources dominate the agricultural information system in the technologically and developmentally backward district, the dearth of extension personnel and their poor linkages with farmers and amongst themselves have enough indication for the development planners to think plan and implement accordingly so the farming can be retained as a source of livelihood .
