The spontaneous speech and descriptive speech were designed and performed. The data suggested that Persian agrammatism appears like this syndrome in other studied languages; there are severe impairments in the verbs and patients rely more on nouns than on verbs. The patterns of omissions and substitutions of grammatical morphemes seem show extreme variations in different patients, both in terms of the occurrence of errors in different grammatical morphemes as and in terms of the occurrence of omissions versus substitutions. There were also some language-particular patterns.

It has been shown across several languages that verb inflection is difficult for agrammatic aphasic speakers. Many studies have indicated that this deficit is selective. Agreement is relatively preserved, while tense is severely impaired. The present work is based on the Interpretable Features' Impairment Hypothesis (Fyndanis, 2012) which believes that categories with uninterpretable features (e.g. Agr.) are better preserved than categories with interpretable features (e.g. Tense & Aspect). It is argued that the increased processing demands of Tense and Aspect, which carry interpretable features, render them more vulnerable compared to Agreement which bears an uninterpretable feature and is a local, strictly grammatical operation. A sentence completion task tapping subject-verb agreement and tense and a picture description task were administered to two native speakers of Persian with agrammatic aphasia. The patients were classified as Broca's aphasics according to the Persian aphasia test, their MRI reports, and CT scans. They were asked to participate in a battery of tests designed to assess their abilities in the production of inflectional morphology. Results showed that all the agrammatic speakers performed as hypothesized. Overall, the tense was significantly more impaired than agreement.

The values of deictic are uncontroversial determined pragmatically but are also input to semantic interpretation. The deictic devices in a language commit a speaker to set up a frame of reference around her. Every language carries an implicit division of the space around the current speaker, a division of time relative to the act of speaking, and, via pronouns, a shorthand naming system for the participants involved in the talk. While languages contain such deictic divisions of space and time, their use has to be calculated by the participants in actual contexts. The present study is a descriptive-analytic research. By comparing some sentences from English and Persian, we argued that in order to reach the exact interpretation of the place and time deictic expressions, the speaker uses the most economical means to describe a particular place and time.

First the empricist approach to is proposed in which the language is viewed as a kind of verbal behavior, and it is proposed that children learn language through imitation, reinforcement, analogy, and similar processes. Then the nativist approach is proposed in which the language is claimed to be a species-specific or uniquely human cognitive capacity which is the result of an innate language acquisition device and finally by studying some Qur'anic verses and their interpretations according to two Persian commentators (Allame Tabatabaei and Makarem Shirazi) and comparing them with these approaches, the authors conclude that man is endowed with the potentiality for creative and conceptual knowledge whereby he names things out and preserves and promotes knowledge. This conceptualization and creativity is a unique characteristic of human mind. So the...

One of the constru al operations under perspective is Langacker's notion of subjectivity/objectivity. Thi s refers to how one conceptualizes a scene that includes the speaker himself/herself. A common use of the notions of subjectivity and objectivity is to demarcate kinds of judgment (or thought or be lief). Subjective information is generally considered to be a single person's opinion. It has a viewpoint, or possibly a bias, regardless of the information it provides. Objective information on t he other hand is meant to be completely unbiased. The present study is a descriptive-analyt ic research. The analysis of Joseph surah as the corpus of this article showed that there are di scourse situations in which the interlocutors avoid explicit mention of their relationship, yet t hey comment on this relationship indirectly while talking about a &#...

The present study aims at analyzing image schemas in a poem by Fereydoon Moshiri called "koocheh"... more The present study aims at analyzing image schemas in a poem by Fereydoon Moshiri called "koocheh"(The Lane). Image schemas as mentioned by Johnson (1987) are conceptual structures derived from physical experiences, cultural background and ideology of a nation. All human beings have access to a universal collection of image schemas, such as containment, path and force schemas. But culturally image schemas are represented differently in languages. It is essential to mention that conceptual structures are not just used in poetry but, in everyday language as well. The analysis of the poem "koocheh"(The Lane) by Fereydoon Moshiri as the corpus of this article shows that some linguistic forms are connected with some schemas; some special prepositions with containment schema, verbs (or nouns derived from them) containing the concept of motion with path schema, and verbs (or nouns derived from such verbs) containing the concept of power accompanied by two nouns with force schema.
