In this paper, a two-phase approach based on multi-criteria decision making and multi-objective o... more In this paper, a two-phase approach based on multi-criteria decision making and multi-objective optimization is developed to solve the problem of optimal portfolio selection. In the first phase, the initial selection of suitable companies for investment is done by considering the criteria extracted from the literature review. In the second phase, a multi-objective mathematical optimization model is developed to determine the optimal investment in each company according to risk and return criteria. In order to deal with uncertainty conditions, a data-based approach is used, which is one of the newest applied methods in this field. According to the obtained results, it is observed that cash adequacy ratio with score 0.1604 is the most important criterion and operating profit with score 0.004 is the least important one. In the past few years, diversification has turned into a highly controversial issue amongst numer... more In the past few years, diversification has turned into a highly controversial issue amongst numerous managers in almost each and every business. It is contended by many that diversification is vitally important and highly effective especially when it comes to evaluating the financial performance. There are several studies about the relationship between diversification and financial performance. However, there is no agreement that diversified firms are more efficient than focus firms. In this paper, the manufacturing firms listed in Bursa Malaysia are ranked based on their efficiency scores calculating by Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models and the effect of diversification on the efficiency scores of these corporations have been investigated. Moreover, by slack analysis, the proposed improvement strategies for inefficient firms have been cited. Ultimately, the Malmquist index of productivity (MIP) has been utilized to further comparison and analysis.

According to the corporate diversification, firms have a tendency to get more market share with diversifying in the local segment or in the international market. Theoretically, a contradictory exists between the profitable strategy and the value reducing strategy in the diversification strategy. In this paper, we measure firm’s efficiency by applying Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in manufacturing firms listed in Bursa Malaysia for five years. Meanwhile, a feed forward multilayer perceptron neural network is applied to model the mapping function between the input and output data to the efficiency score. Back propagation (BP) learning algorithm is applied to update network’s weights through minimizing the cost function, and the best topology of the network is conducted. Other researchers have been done in scientific and professional associations about what variable should be the subject of compensation. Many firms and economic organizations determine the manager compensation based on profitability rates; however, it has been criticized due to formulating some failures on modification and computation of it. So, this research has intended to investigate the relationship between manager’s compensation and market value added (MVA). In this paper, it is applied panel data technique for 46 listed firms in five years. Finally, it is concluded that there is a relationship between manager’s compensation and market value added in Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) and the 47 % of fluctuations is explained by the defined regression model.

The study aims to contribute to the literature by looking jointly at two dimensions of corporate diversification as product diversification and international diversification and the relationship between them. The results show negative relationship between product diversification and efficiency, international diversification and efficiency and corporate diversification and efficiency in manufacturing firms listed in Bursa Malaysia. This study also has described main variables which have an impact on the diversification-efficiency relationship and has guided managers on how to pursue an optimal diversification strategy.

Also, most of undergraduate students want to study MBA. So, this research was carried out to determine the current job satisfaction and job opportunity of MBA Iranian graduates. The questionnaire of the research was designed and was distributed among 30 MBA Iranian graduates in order to gain our primary data. In the study I found that most of MBA Iranian graduates are satisfied with their jobs; moreover, there are job opportunities for them. Our conclusion is that if the purpose of MBA programs is to obtain better job opportunity and job satisfaction, these outcomes show that MBA achieved the aim.
