Some people tend to use innovations but some people do not, due to the influence of different factors. Personality type can be considered as one of those factors that might have a relation with the feelings toward the innovations. Therefore, this paper explores the relationship between Iranian EFL teachers' personality traits and their sense of technophobia and technophilia. Two hundred and ten Iranian EFL teachers participated in this study. The Big-Five Personality Traits Questionnaire (John & Strivastava, 1999) and Technophobia and Technophilia Questionnaire (Martínez-Córcoles, Teichmann, & Murdvee, 2017) were used in the current study. To find the answers to the research questions, Pearson correlation, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), and independent-sample t-test were used. The results showed that all subscales of personality traits were negative significant predictors of technophobia except Neuroticism. Moreover, the results indicated a positive significant relationship between overall technophilia and all constructs of personality traits.

Thus, this research aimed to study the digital literacy of Iranian EFL teachers and students to find out any significant difference between them. One hundred and fifty Iranian EFL teachers, and 175 Iranian EFL students were invited to participate in this study. A 181-item standardized measure developed and validated by Khlaisang and Koraneekij (2019) was used to assess individuals' three crucial 21 st-century digital skills namely Information Literacy (IL), Media Literacy (ML), and Information Communication Technology Literacy (ICTL). To find that whether this difference is significant or not, a t-test was run. The results highlight that Iranian EFL teachers' scores were higher than students in all the three constructs of IL, ML, and ICTL, and ICTL had the highest mean score among all. The data regarding teachers' and students' digital literacy can be a reference for educational planners and decision-makers to identify digital skills which should be considered more seriously at the university level especially in these Coronavirus days.

Thus, this study aimed to validate the Persian translation of the Intercultural Intelligence Scale developed by Ang et al. (2007), using the Rasch rating scale model, to discover whether the same constructs of the scale would be extracted in order to make it available to use within the Persian language contexts. The scale was administered to 203 EFL teachers who have taught English in several language institutes and universities. Findings showed the test had an acceptable person and item separation reliability which proved the external validity of the scale. The order of the category thresholds showed the respondents could discriminate well among the scale’s categories. Therefore, the scale is potentially valid and can be used as a measure of Intercultural Intelligence in the Persian lang...

The test was translated and modified by the researcher to be used for Iranian students. The test was administered to 186 Iranian undergraduates. The results indicated that the Rasch model fit the test after deleting eight items from the scale. Concurrent validation demonstrated that the test correlates significantly with other verbal and nonverbal fluid reasoning measures, and suggests that the instrument is potentially valid and useful as a measure of verbal analogical reasoning in the Persian language.

To this end, the researchers interviewed 20 expert translation instructors to identify the factors they consider important for assessing the quality of students' translation. Based on the specific commonalities found throughout the interviews, a 23-item assessment rubric was constructed on a four-point Likert scale. More specifically, this study used the Rasch rating scale model for polytomous data to investigate the psychometric properties of the rating scale in terms of dimensionality, reliability, use of response category, and sample appropriateness. Then, a translation exam was administered to 60 translation students at the BA level in Iranian universities. Following this, the rubric was employed to assess the quality of students' translation. The results revealed that the Rasch model fits the data well. Thus, the findings of the study indicated that the rubric is potentially valid and useful, and can be used as a measure of translation quality assessment in the Iranian context.

In this study, a foreign language reading comprehension test was analyzed employing HDCM and the generalized deterministic-input, noisy and gate (G-DINA) model to determine and compare respondents’ mastery profiles in the test’s predefined skills and to illustrate the relationships among the attributes involved in the test to capture the influence of sequential teaching of materials on increasing the probability of getting an item a correct answer. Furthermore, Differential Item Functioning (DIF) analysis was applied to detect whether the test functions as a reason for the gender gap in participants’ achievement. Finally, classification consistency and accuracy indices are studied. The results showed that the G-DINA and one of the HDCMs fit the data well. However, although the results of HDCM showed th...

According to Ismail, Desa, and Balakrishnan (2018) creativity is one of the main skills that is extremely noticeable in teaching. Moreover, because of the alteration of generation and expansion of knowledge and technology, the instruction requires creative teachers that can use up-to-date and modern techniques. Within this framework, the researcher tried to investigate any significant relationship between Iranian EFL teachers’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and their creativity. To comply with the objective, a total of 210 Iranian EFL teachers took part in this study. For gathering the data two questionnaires were administered through Google Form that shared via social media like Telegram and WhatsApp. The results of correlation analyses revealed that there was a positive significant relationship between Iranian EFL teachers’ CPD and their creativity. Accordingly, thi...

The test, however, is verbal and can only be used with native speakers of English. In this study, we adapted the test for application in the Persian language using a different pair of verbs and geometrical shapes instead of English letters. The adapted test had high internal consistency and retest reliability estimates. It also had an excellent fit to a one-factor confirmatory factor model and correlated acceptably with other measures of fluid intelligence and participants' grade point average (GPA).

One of these important variables in language pedagogy is Self- . This study, which utilized qualitative _ quantitative methodologies, aimed at measuring the relationship between the self-efficacy of Iranian English teachers and their feelings of burnout. The needed data were gathered through the application of the two questionnaires: The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI; Maslach & Jackson 1981, 1986) and a researchersmade questionnaire of self-efficacy. The participants are as 616 professional experienced teachers from both genders and different age groups, having university education from different provinces of Iran. The SPSS software (version 16) was used to change the data into numerical interpretable data. To determine the relationship between self-efficacy and teachers' burnout, correlational analysis was employed. The result showed that the participants' self-efficacy has a reverse relationship with their burnout. In addition, a significant relationship was observed between teachers' reports of burnout, and their years of experiences.

In this study, two kinds of tests were used. One of them consisted of 60 questions that determine the students' brain dominance, and the other was a reading test that consisted of four different types of questions. Two hundreds participants from Islamic Azad University and Applied Science University in Mashhad participated in this study. The data were evaluated by the use of SPSS software through Chi Square Tests. The obtained results revealed a significant relationship between learners' performance on different reading comprehension item types and use of brain quadrants.

These variables can highly influence the learners' and consequently teachers' performance. One of the most influential psychosocial domains in language pedagogy is Self-efficacy. Another influential factor that is of utmost importance in teaching contexts is burnout. This study has been conducted to investigate the relationship between the self-efficacy of Iranian teachers of English and their reports of burnout. The needed data were gathered through the application of two questionnaires: The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI; ) and the researcher made questionnaire of self-efficacy. The participants were 200 experienced teachers having university education from one of the big provinces of Iran, Khorasan Razavi. They were both males and females and from different age groups. After obtaining the raw data, the SPSS software (version 16) was used to change the data into numerical interpretable form. To determine the relationship between self-efficacy and teachers' burnout, correlational analysis was employed. The result showed that the participants' self-efficacy has a reverse relationship with their burnout.
