Holy crap, the first intros were submitted and wow - what a quality we see here... We hope, that much will follow - and hey, don't be afraid to submit your entries, nobody knows who will be on number one at the end :-)

Hello everyone!
The last day of the year has arrived, and we're all counting down the seconds until the start of 2026, when we can submit our intros for the awesome Intro Creation Competition 2026.
For those who haven't heard yet: A forum has been opened on csdb.dk where you can discuss the competition. You can find it here: csdb forum.
So, dust off your programming skills! We're looking forward to your cool entries that celebrate our beloved Breadbin and our hobby to keep the good old C64 aliveβ¦

As you may have seen at the DREAM 210 we announced the INTRO CREATION COMPETITION 2026 with a small onefile demo... We hope you enjoyed this little piece of retro art and are now motivated to bring your coding skills to life to submit intros, intros, intros!!!

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Welcome to the ultimate challenge for C64 enthusiasts. Demonstrate your mastery of the MOS 6510 processor and VIC-II graphics chip. Every cycle counts, every byte matters.
CATEGORIES & RULES
4KB INTRO
Maximum 4096 bytes. Pure coding excellence.

16KB INTRO
Full 16 kilobytes to unleash creativity.

COMPETITION RULES
β Must run on a plain stock C64 (PAL standard) without any extensions
β Must be a one-part intro. Short fade-ins and fade-outs are OK.
β Must contain at least one Logo at whatever size you like.
β Has to contain a changing or moving text message (e.g. scrolling text, different lines fading in & out, etc.)
β Must be interruptable any time by pressing SPACE-key (exception are the short fade-in and fade-out).
β Does not need to have exclusive graphics, charsets or music. But the code should be exclusive, so reuse of existing code with just exchanged graphics and music is not allowed.
β Has not been publicly used before entering the competition .
β Must be handed in as executable format startable with RUN (.prg or embedded in .t64 or .d64).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- upload your intro to csdb as .prg, .d64 or .t64 file
- add screenshot or preview image
- link intro to the category for 4KB (C64 4k Intro) /16KB (C64 Demo) according rules
- link intro to the Intro Creation Competition 2026 event
- don't forget to add credits for eternal glory
