The purpose of this research paper is to derive the factors of internal efficiency and external effectiveness of cyber security and develop impact model to identify the most and least preferred parameters of internal efficiency with respect to all the parameters of external effectiveness.Design/methodology/approachThere are two objectives for this research: Deriving the factors of internal efficiency and external effectiveness of cyber security; Developing a model to identify the impact of internal efficiency factors on the external effectiveness of cyber security since there is not much evidence of research in defining the ...

Right selection is a process of identifying the right suppliers, who are able to provide the buyer right products/raw materials/ services, at the right price, right time, right place and right quantity. The selection decision is based on multiple criteria and this decision often is unstructured and complex. Multi criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem involves different conflicting criteria on which decision maker's knowledge is sometimes vague and imprecise. This decision is required to be taken in a fuzzy environment. In this paper, an attempt has been made to formulate and apply a fuzzy MCDM method to a supplier selection problem from the Indian fertiliser industry.

Due to the recent emphasis on infrastructural development by the Government of India, the cement industry is growing further in terms of scale and scope of operation. Some cement companies in India are claiming to be the cost leaders, but there are relative differences in technical efficiency and scale efficiency of companies. This paper attempts to examine the technical efficiency as well as the scale efficiency of 32 cement producers in India using data envelopment analysis (DEA) over a panel period of three years (2006-2008). The multiple outputs considered for the model are revenue generation from sales of cement and other variations of cement generic products. The inputs included in the model are raw material, manpower, energy and capital. This analysis brings out a distinct classification of cement producers in terms of relative efficiencies. This paper demonstrates, there are some cement producers whose technical and scale efficiencies are continuously increasing and strategically positioned in the capital market.
Global supply chains are often critically dependent upon globally outsourced Information Technolo... more Global supply chains are often critically dependent upon globally outsourced Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) projects. Effective risk assessment and mitigation of these projects is therefore of great importance for such supply chains. Traditional risk management techniques used so far in IT and BPO projects have depended almost entirely on the 'Expected Utility Theory' that computes risk exposure as the product of risk probability and risk impact. Although this method is considered the gold standard in risk assessment, it has severe limitations due to the fact that accurate computation of risk probability and impact is difficult. In this and earlier papers, we have advocated the use of 'risk factors' in conjunction with other existing methods for risk assessment. Risk factors are conditions that affect project performance. In this paper, we use Logistic Regression and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based methods on a set of globally outsourced projects to predict project performance and to rank the relative importance of project risk factors. Although in this paper these techniques have been tested in outsourced IT projects, these can also be used in identifying and determining project risk factors in other industries.

This paper is an attempt to outline the concepts and learning about SPS capturing the varied perspectives of industrial case examples. An attempt is made in the paper to study the available literature about SPS and structure them into a synoptic framework of planning, design and implementation. The pursuit of sustainable development requires creation of SPS for seizing opportunities offered by triple-bottom-line orientation for firms to remain internationally superior and competitive. This paper provides a better understanding of current practices fulfilling SPS to identify opportunities for improvement based on current state of debate.

A survey of 1390 employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, a Government of India Public Sector Undertaking providing telecommunication services across India, shows that PS is directly related to OC, and is moderated by employees’ cultural values at individual level.

Starting from the analysis of the European Investment Plan for green transactions, as well as the EU Directive 2018/410 of the European Parliament and of the Council, in conjunction with ongoing efforts to identify innovative financing tools, research is presented based on hypotheses using concepts and models of green financing. The paper aims to analyze the main concepts and phenomena that could be considered generative factors for current financial market trends, as well as the inventory of facts and acts that provide a picture of the financial market. Based on these investigations, this paper suggest how we can best analyze the economic environment, processes, and resour...

This research has extended Behera et al. (2015) on implementation issues and process phases and applied key knowledge areas of project management to study performance of construction supply chain on finance, quality, logistics and innovation only. The findings from this innovative conceptualisation can contribute to develop strategies for construction supply chains. Decision makers involved in CSCM can find this study useful for developing a broader decision support for performance measurement involving both knowledge areas and process phases. The study is restricted by methodological limitations associated with snowball sampling and anonymous survey-based research within the limits of a single industry sector. The present study however may facilitate decision makers of CSCM with an ...

Projects are grouped with several other projects according to some similarity, for example same customer, same domain, same geography, or some other factor(s). When an SSO enterprise undertakes concurrent execution of multiple projects characterised by size, complexity, resource requirements, etc. in multiple locations, it is necessary to estimate 'generic risk factors'. Although generic risk factors are used in medical/actuarial science, so far they have not been applied in SSO industry and therefore have not been mandated in the existing IT-related standards; which currently focus on project-specific risk factors. In this paper, we demonstrate the use of generic risk factors by developing a computational and workflow system framework. Such a framework may be used to upgrade existing international standards on project risk management.

The remanufactured products are assumed to be as good as new ones and the returned items from the customers can be remanufactured at a fixed rate. The model helps in maintaining the goodwill of the customers by not allowing frequent stock outs by providing safety stock. A model is proposed and analyzed depending on the relationship between different parameters. An interpretive modelling based approach has been employed to model the reverse logistics variables typically found in reverse supply chains . A methodology is used for the calculation of optimum level for the newly manufactured items and the optimum level of the returned items for remanufacturing simultaneously. The major objective is to minimize the waste and gain the competitive advantage of cost of conversion. M...

The entire world has shrunk to their CMC arena and they have the conviction that it has enhanced their cross-cultural understanding, personal relationship and their knowledge. In terms of interpersonal relationship, the respondents had it that the CMC has in fact, strengthened and expanded their interpersonal Relationship scope with their friends, class mates and in some occasion with their family. However issues like indulgence to computers and social networking sites, privacy and leakage & misuse of personal information have also been identified as the main areas of concern by these youths as they are trying to cope with the situation in their CMC communication.

To analyse such a problem, the firm requires both tacit and explicit knowledge and effective processes for deploying such knowledge within and across the boundaries of the firm. It has been attempted in this paper to explain a strategic model, which has facilitated the process of effective management of knowledge as the unique resource for value creation and maintenance for an Indian electronics manufacturing enterprise.
