Hello, and welcome to icon_basics! This is a community where people who are new to icon-making can come and pick up some tips, as well as learn icon-making terms and find resources. Also, even more accomplished icon-makers need a few new ideas from time to time.

If you've discovered a neat effect, or have an area of iconing that you specialize in, go ahead and post.

Here are some simple posting guidelines:

--Please include the program you're using.

--Feel free to include examples of whatever you're talking about.

--Utilize the LJ-cut feature to keep posts fairly short on friends' lists.

--Please label your tutorial/idea as "[Intermediate]" (in the subject line) if it's more than sharing a simple technique. If you want to post a full icon tutorial or more advanced techniques, that's fine, but it should be tagged as being more complicated than the basic ideas.
