iconographies (original) (raw)

Fairy tale icons, as requested by birgitriddle (and which I meant to post two weeks ago--clearly I suck at posting in a timely manner :P). I tried to get a good mix of illustrators and styles in the post. I have loads more illustrations saved away, so if these are a hit, or people have favorite illustrators, I can certainly make more.

100+ icons of ladies and girls embroidering (as requested by taelle ), as well as sewing, knitting, crocheting, spinning, winding yarn, sorting floss, and making lace. I embroider and knit myself, so I already had a 'craft' related folder of images I'd been meaning to icon, and the request was just the kick I needed to get them done.

Okay, so after a bit of a delay courtesy of some unexpected traveling and a lovely case of the flu, requests are finally ready \o/. Remember how I said I was only going to make 3 per person? Pffft. Since the requests were nearly all for things I was already planning on iconning, I just went ahead and made regular size batches (another reason they've taken so long). I'll get the first 2 up today, and I'll spread the rest out over the week.

I got a lovely surprise when I checked the comm profile earlier--sometime over the holidays the comm went over 100 watchers! Woohoo! *tosses confetti*. Thank you to everyone who's friended the community, left a comment, or just popped by to take a peek.

Second batch of Winter icons--this time it's a mix of botanical illustrations, illuminated manuscripts, and Japanese prints.

I'm still taking REQUESTS.

Gah, I'm getting these up later than I thought. Blame the holiday craziness. Anyway, here's part 1 of this year's Winter icons. This batch is mostly Impressionist landscapes and cityscapes. I'll get part 2 up in a sec, then I have to go finish baking and wrapping. Seriously, how the hell is it Christmas Eve already?!
