21st June, 2002. 9:55 am. Oldie But Goodie
I submitted this one as a contribution to Dogbert's "True Stories Of In-duh-viduals" some time ago. It hasn't been published (yet) but I did receive a personal e-mail from Scott Adams himself. Go me.
In the middle of 1985, I received a letter from a highly-placed government agency, basically yelling at me for not signing up with the selective service (the draft) after I turned 18. I was told that there would be hefty fines and jail time in my immediate future if I didn't go right down to the nearest post office and sign up.
It was addressed to:
Private First Class Douglas Paul
76th Heavy Equipment Maintenance Company
194th Armored Brigade
Fort Knox, KY 40121
It took awhile to convince them I was really in the Army.
