So, I guess the war is over, except that we haven't actually accomplished the goals of the war. (Note: when a war ends and the goals of the war are not accomplished, this is called failure.) Back in the real world, of course, we've just barely started the real business that our troops are theoretically over there to do, that is, to make the world safe for Hegemony Democracy. But hey, we've made all those rich oil company owners happy, and isn't that the American Way?

In other news, it turns out that there is a first season Futurama DVD, and that this thing was in the same store as girlgonemad when she had a gift certificate for that store, and therefore all manner of things are now well. In light of this, I leave you all with the following thought:

We're whalers on the moon
We carry a harpoon
But there ain't no whales
So we tell tall tales
And sing a whaling tune
