About us
BTYSTE was set up in 1965 to encourage all second level students (12-19 years) across Ireland to take part and enter an enquiry based project to the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition and thus foster their interest in STEM (Science Technology, Engineering and Maths). That is still the ethos of the exhibition almost 6 decades later. BTYSTE remains the longest running STEM initiative in Europe and the third longest in the world. The event which normally takes each January attracts some 10's of thousands of visitors each year making it the biggest educational event in the Irish schools calendar.

Updates
- As part of our 25 weeks to celebrate 25 years of BT’s involvement in the Young Scientist & Technology exhibition we will be publishing a newsletter which features winners and some key Irish and global moments from certain years. This week we feature year 2001 & 2002 – who won, and what happened in Ireland and across the world in those years. Amazing what memories these historical milestones are bringing back.
