Creativity is… In a recent interview with Campaign UK, Andre (Dede) Laurentino shared his view on creativity and I urge you to give it a read. It certainly got me thinking. We often talk about creativity being our superpower, but it can only be that if we have trust in the hero, or the idea, and the bravery to see where it could take us. Dede draws parallels to a plot of the story and how deus ex machina drives an unexpected outcome. As Dede says, “One capricious trait of creativity, as with deus ex machina solutions, is that it can never have been executed before. It needs to have the surprise element, or it won’t be as potent – or not potent enough to solve a tightly knotted problem. To achieve exponential results, we must be open to the illogical surprise element. The lateral way out that has never presented itself before… Believe in creativity. Or be comfortable with predictable but mediocre results.” It’s true. When I think about the most impactful work that has really left its mark on society, not only does it have creativity at its centre, it has trust and bravery as a starting point. Creativity is…Sir John Hegarty, one of the advertising world's greats, recently told me that if we are not creating, we’re dying. Hegarty, Founding Partner of Saatchi & Saatchi and co-founder of Bartle Bogle Hegarty has been at the helm of the industry for over six decades and the mind behind so many examples of iconic work. Dedicated to helping unlock the impact that ideas can have on business, brand and everyday life, today Hegarty runs The Business of Creativity - helping to bring brands to life by harnessing creativity. David Ogilvy famously said that creativity is our lifeblood, I think he would have agreed with Hegarty’s view. What does creativity mean to you?#BorderlessCreativity #TeamOgilvy - 🏈 Touchdown for Dublin! 🏈 We were thrilled to support the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, as their official Communications Partner, as they brought the excitement of college football back to Dublin for another year! This year’s clash between Georgia Tech and Florida State University took place in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday and saw over 25,000 American fans making the journey to experience this incredible event. It is estimated this year’s game will generate in excess of €115 million for the local Irish economy. We're proud to play our part in supporting this significant initiative.#MuchMoreThanAGame #TouchdownIreland

So proud of our very talented colleagues, Gillian Herlihy and Sarah O'Connor, who co-authored this fascinating new report that explores the power of sport as a common language in a fractured world, and what it means for fans, brands, and sport itself. The report is available for download here. Well worth a read.#OgilvySport https://lnkd.in/enfX86_m
In a world drowning in distractions, only sport commands the attention of billions in a single, unifying moment. Our new report looks at the power of sport as the common language in a fractured world, & what it means for fans, brands, & sport itself. 👉 https://okt.to/Bwjchx - Ogilvy Group Ireland, which includes Ogilvy Advertising and Wilson Hartnell, is delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Melarkey to the role of Group Creative Director. Creativity is… The thing that makes everything go further and faster. Or as Kim Potters puts it, it’s the accelerator. And when our foot is on the peddle, creativity is the vehicle that makes an impact. It’s the drive we all want to be on, the road trip we’ll never forget, and it makes the journey a lot more enjoyable for everyone. It hence needs true cheerleaders such as Kim Potters - urging everyone around her on to elevate what we do with enthusiasm and positivity... and that is contagious! Are you having fun being creative? PS. ❤️❤️❤️ for our work for Dulux Heritage reimagining the covers of 12 literary classics to create an entirely new way to choose color. "Dulux Heritage Editions" are a collection of luxury paint hues that have been paired with iconic novels ranging from War of the Worlds, Dracula and Moby Dick to 1984, Little Women and Frankenstein. The covers were created by hand to demonstrate the genuine application of paint, with the spines acting as paint swatches and the inside covers showcasing the wide range of Dulux Heritage. https://lnkd.in/eV9WQzQS #BorderlessCreativity #TeamOgilvy
