- Low calorie: Simple ingredients like yogurt and spices means for 1/4 cup of this dip there is just 30 calories!
- Low fat: No cream cheese, sour cream, or mayo are found in this lower fat dip that has only 1g of fat per serving.
- High protein: Yogurt is higher in protein and this dip contains 5g of protein per serving for a satisfying snack.

Ingredients You’ll Need

To make this Greek yogurt dip, all you need is 5 ingredients and that includes the salt and pepper!
- Yogurt: Plain regular or plain Greek yogurt 2% higher fat is recommended for best taste. Just like with my Greek yogurt Caesar dressing.
- Fresh herbs: Fresh dill is our favorite, but fresh parsley works too.
- Garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
Is It Better to Use Fresh Herbs or Dried Herbs in this Dip?
While fresh herbs will have the best taste with yogurt dip for veggie, if you are unable to find fresh herbs or it’s winter, dried herbs work! Use one teaspoon of dried herbs instead of one tablespoon fresh herbs.
How to Make Healthy Veggie Dip
Homemade veggie dip is so much better for you. No preservatives and way less sodium. Not to mention that it tastes better and fresh!

Mix ingredients together: Add yogurt, dill, garlic powder, salt and pepper to small bowl or jar with tight fitting lid. Shake jar or stir with a fork.

Serve: If you have time let dip rest for 10 minutes then serve with your favorite vegetables.
Substitutions
- Regular yogurt: Regular yogurt contains more whey than Greek yogurt. If you have time, strain it in a colander lined with linen towel over a bowl for about 1 hour. If not, dip will accumulate more whey on top with time, just stir before serving. Either way works.
- Herbs: While fresh are best, previously frozen are OK as well. If you are making this dip mid-winter, dried dill weed would work. Obviously not as good as fresh but you will get desired flavor pretty close.
- Garlic powder: I used garlic powder for a subtle garlic flavor. You can use tiny grated garlic clove too.
FAQs
What type of Greek yogurt is best to use?
I usually buy yogurt with 3.5% fat content. 2% is great too. Stay away from nonfat Greek yogurt with 0% fat or low fat Greek yogurt as it tastes chalky and bland.
Why does my dip taste salty?
Veggie dip should be a bit more salty than you are used to because we are dipping unsalted veggies in it. If you plan to use this dip with chips, adjust salt accordingly.
Can I add other spices?
Sure! Fresh chives or onion powder will give it a more Greek dip ranch dip feel, a pinch of cayenne pepper will give it a kick of heat.
