This work presents an experimental investigation of the mechanical properties of composites reinf... more This work presents an experimental investigation of the mechanical properties of composites reinforced with crocheted fabrics of miriti fibers (Mauritia flexuosa) in a polyester matrix. The fabrics were manufactured under different grammages, with and without alkaline fiber treatment. The composites were produced using two different viscosity conditions of the polyester matrix and part of these underwent post-cure treatment at 60 °C. In order to evaluate the effects of the input variables, the samples were produced by manual lamination with curing under vacuum, following a complete factorial experimental matrix type 24, tested according to the ASTM D 3039. The results showed that the variables alkaline treatment of the fibers and viscosity of the matrix presented statistically significant effects on the responses limit of tensile strength and modulus of elasticity. The highest level of tensile strength (13.02 MPa) was obtained in composites with alkaline treatment of the fibers, fabric grammage 473.9 g/cm2, matrix with higher viscosity and post-cure application, while the modulus of elasticity obtained the best performance (1.59 GPa) in samples without alkaline treatment of the fibers, manufactured with the fabric of lower grammage, with a more viscous matrix and that underwent post-curing.

The development of wind turbines for regions with low wind speeds imposes a challenge to the expa... more The development of wind turbines for regions with low wind speeds imposes a challenge to the expansion of the corresponding energy generation capacity. The present work consists of an evaluation of the potential carded jute fiber and jute yarn to be used in the construction of a wind blade for regions of low wind intensity. The fibers used were supplied by Company Textile of Castanhal (Castanhal-Para-Brazil) and used in the study without chemical treatment in the form of single-filament fibers and yarns with a surface twist of 18.5°. The composites were produced through the resin infusion technique and underwent tensile and shear tests using 120-Ohm strain gauges and a blade extensometer to obtain the Young’s modulus. In the analysis of the results, the ANOVA test was applied with a 0.05 significance level, followed by Tukey’s test. The results showed that long, aligned jute fibers can be a good option for laminated structures applied in composites for small wind turbine blades.

The aim of this study was to identify the factors associated with patient satisfaction of a publi... more The aim of this study was to identify the factors associated with patient satisfaction of a public hospital in the metropolitan area of Belem, State of Para. The sample was constituted by 400 interviews, in the period from September 1 st to 15 th , 2008. The issue of the focus on patient satisfaction is in the context of New Public Management. The statistic analysis was based on factor analysis technique. The results suggest that medical staff, reception, care services and infrastructure are the factors associated with patient satisfaction, as well the importance of interpersonal relationship was revealed.

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o clima organizacional no Campus Belém do Instituto Federal ... more O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o clima organizacional no Campus Belém do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Pará (IFPA – Campus Belém). A amostra foi constituída por 40 servidores técnico-administrativos em 2014 por meio do questionário de Escala de Clima Organizacional proposto por Martins et al. (2004 ). Os resultados revelaram um baixo clima organizacional e a presença de tendência de respostas em algumas questões. As suas principais constatações estão em linhas com outras investigações recentes na administração pública brasileira, com destaque para a baixa percepção de que os esforços para a melhoria da qualidade e produtividade sejam reconhecidos e resultem em recompensas e a baixa participação no processo de tomada de decisão

The present work aims to predict the Young’s modulus with application of continuous and aligned lignocellulosic fibers to be applied as reinforcement in polyester matrix. Fibers were manually separated and then arranged and aligned in the polyester matrix. Composites with addition 5, 15, and 25 vol% jute and mallow fibers were produced by vacuum-assisted hand lay-up/vaccum-bagging procedure. Samples were tested in tensile and the tensile strength, elasticity modulus, and deformation were determined. Results showed that the intrinsic Young’s modulus of the fibers was set at values around 17.95 and 11.72 GPa for jute and mallow fibers, respectively. Composite materials stand out for enabling the development of new materials that are environmenta... more Composite materials stand out for enabling the development of new materials that are environmentally friendly, whose manufacturing processes and waste are increasingly less harmful, associated with good mechanical properties. In this context, this work sought to investigate the mechanical behavior in flexural and impact of polyester matrix composites with the inclusion of short fibers of sisal, piassava, raffia, mallow and jute arranged randomly. The mechanical properties of flexural were evaluated according to ASTM D 790 and the impact toughness Charpy with the ASTM D 6110 standard. The results showed that when subjected to flexural stresses, the composites presented resistance of 112 .12 MPa for the neat matrix and 35.21; 34.45; 27.29; 25.89 and 20.56 MPa with the inclusion of sisal, piassava, raffia, mallow and jute fibers, respectively. A análise descritiva envolveu todos os 38 IF em 2016, sendo analisadas as variáveis Vagas, Matriculados, Inscritos, Concluintes, Docentes, Titulação do Corpo Docente (TCD), Campi, Gastos Correntes (GC), Gasto Com Pessoal (GP), Gastos Com Outros Custeios (GO), Gasto Com Investimentos (GI) e Índice De Governança De Pessoas (iGovPessoas), estas extraídas do Relatório Anual de Análise dos Indicadores de Gestão das Instituições Federais de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica, disponível no sítio do Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) e as estatísticas descritivas foram calculadas com o auxílio do software R. Os resultados revelaram que, em média, os IF possuem 21.612 alunos matriculados, disponibilizaram 7.385 vagas, formaram 2.653 alunos, possuem 863 docentes com titulação do corpo docente próxima ao mestrado (3,8), com gastos correntes de 280 milhões, baixo índice de Governança de Pessoas e que as regiões Nordeste e Sudeste possuem a maior quantidade de campi

O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar, sob a perspectiva dos servidores publicos, os principais as... more O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar, sob a perspectiva dos servidores publicos, os principais aspectos da cultura organizacional, que podem influenciar o atendimento da Lei 12.527, de 18 de novembro de 2011, conhecida como Lei de Acesso a Informacao. Para tanto, foi feita uma pesquisa quantitativa, de alcance exploratorio e descritivo do tipo transversal, com 178 servidores publicos da Universidade Federal Rural da Amazonia, selecionados por amostragem probabilistica aleatoria simples. O tratamento de dados utilizou tecnicas descritivas, inferenciais e multivariadas, em especial a analise fatorial exploratoria (AFE) e a analise de agrupamentos (AA). Os resultados revelaram quatro fatores, que explicaram 69,73% da variância dos dados e foram denominados como: legitimidade da administracao publica (22,64%), utilizacao indevida da informacao publica (20,29%), dominio social da informacao (14,50%) e poder e controle do servidor publico (12,30%). O objetivo deste artigo e apresentar o Software R como uma promissora ferramenta no apoio de apli... more O objetivo deste artigo e apresentar o Software R como uma promissora ferramenta no apoio de aplicacoes da Analise Envoltoria de Dados (DEA), um metodo multicriterio de analise de eficiencia relativa de organizacoes. Analisaram-se 38 Institutos da Rede Federal de Educacao, Ciencia e Tecnologia (IF) por meio da DEA com rendimentos variaveis de escala (RCE) orientado a produto, no ano de 2014, utilizando–se indicadores de gestao, dois de insumo e um de produto. O estudo foi inteiramente realizado no R, realizando-se calculos de eficiencia tecnica, supereficiencia, coeficientes de correlacao, regressao multipla, transformacao de dados e geracao de graficos personalizados. Os resultados, alem de revelar o desempenho dos Institutos, evidenciaram o software R como uma vantajosa opcao para aplicacao da DEA, ressaltando a sua simplicidade e versatilidade.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar as características dos Institutos da Rede Federal de Educa... more O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar as características dos Institutos da Rede Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IF). A análise descritiva envolveu todos os 38 IF em 2016, sendo analisadas as variáveis Vagas, Matriculados, Inscritos, Concluintes, Docentes, Titulação do Corpo Docente (TCD), Campi, Gastos Correntes (GC), Gasto Com Pessoal (GP), Gastos Com Outros Custeios (GO), Gasto Com Investimentos (GI) e Índice De Governança De Pessoas (iGovPessoas), estas extraídas do Relatório Anual de Análise dos Indicadores de Gestão das Instituições Federais de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica, disponível no sítio do Tribunal de Contas da União (TCU) e as estatísticas descritivas foram calculadas com o auxílio do software R. Os resultados revelaram que, em média, os IF possuem 21.612 alunos matriculados, disponibilizaram 7.385 vagas, formaram 2.653 alunos, possuem 863 docentes com titulação do corpo docente próxima ao mestrado (3,8), com gastos correntes de 280 milhões, baixo índice de Governança de Pessoas e que as regiões Nordeste e Sudeste possuem a maior quantidade de campi.
