A book is a medium for recording information in the form of writing or images, typically composed... more A book is a medium for recording information in the form of writing or images, typically composed of many pages bound together and protected by a cover.Books are packed with knowledge, insights into a happy life, life lessons, love, fear, prayer and helpful advice. One can read about anything under the sun. Books have been here for centuries and without them today's knowledge of our past ancestors, cultures and civilizations would have been impossible. This study focuses on importance of books in 21 st century in our life as well as our societies. Brief discussion about country wise book publishing and selling views in modern age of 21 st century's world with which country's people reads most. Finally a worldwide list of public libraries to save and store the books for our future generation.

Polytechnic college aims to provide students with industry or job related engineering knowledge, ... more Polytechnic college aims to provide students with industry or job related engineering knowledge, scientific skills, computing and analysis, mathematical techniques, a sound knowledge of English to communicate in the field and ability to apply problem solving techniques. Its duration is minimum three years which makes a student half engineer. During COVID-19 scenario all the institute are physically shut down for students but there reading and learning is not stopping. In this scenario use of e-resource for learning is essential. In this survey it is found that 98% students using e-resource for study. But there is a problem regarding use of e-resource like lack of internet, and for economically weaker section to arrange any kind of e-resource using gadget like laptop, Smart phone etc. In this survey it is found that 77% students are using e-resource from home but 23% students using e- resource from different places. And finally it is found that there is no significant difference between male and female students in using e-resource for academic purposes.

All the data collected from Shodhganaga repository. After study the repository it is found that total number of research paper recorded in Shodhganga repository on subject Library Science is Two Thousand one hundred Forty Three (2143) up to February 2021 in India. And after reviewing the repository it is also found that total number of research paper recorded in Shodhganga repository from West Bengal is One hundred twenty four (124) which submitted by one Central University and five state universities. Highest number of research paper submitted in Shodhganaga repository by University of Burdwan is (37).
