Methods: The study was a cross-sectional survey of 429 students. Primary data were collected with a set of questionnaires comprising two main sections which sought to elicit information, first, on the adoption level of social media for medicine information employing a Likert-type scale with five alternative responses and weighting scores of 1 - 5, and second, on use of social media for MISB on a dichotomous (yes/no) scale. Collected data were analysed with descriptive and inferential statistics at 5 % level of significance. Results: The results show that adoption of social media tools for sourcing medicine information among the students was at a persuasion level (MWA 2.10) and correlates with the finding on the dichotomous scale that they were barely (28.7 %) u...

Campbell [1] asserts that the average adult spends much of his or her life working, as much as a quarter or even a third of his waking life in work. As much as a fifth to a quarter of the variation in adult life satisfaction can be accounted for by satisfaction with work Campbell [1]. The work environment has effect on the performance level of employees and absence of office building, drugs, equipment etc. can affect the performance of the employees Asigele [2]. The behavior of employees is influenced by the environment in which they find themselves and will be a function of that employee’s innate drives or felt needs and the opportunities he or she has to satisfy those drives or needs in the workplace. Employee motivation has been defined as: “the willingness to exert high levels of effort toward organizational goals, conditioned by the effort’s ability to s...

Primary data were collected using a set of pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire which sought to elicit information on the level of TQM adoption and designed with items on a Likert–type scale of seven alternative responses with weighting scores of 0 through 6, representing seven stages (levels) in the adoption process. Adoption was taken as becoming effective from the sixth stage (level 5). Factors influencing TQM adoption were identified by employing a Likert-type influence scale with five alternative responses and weighting scores of 0 - 4. Weighted averages (WA) and means of weighted averages (MWA) were employed in summarising the data while t-test and regression analyses we...

Online counselling is relatively easy for people to gain access to professional counsellors. It also creates an anonymous environment, which makes it easier to talk about personal problems and provides larger access to messages on preventive health care. Online facilities help provide comprehensive access to counselling by segments of the population that have barrier of access to conventional services. It is particularly useful to meet the psychosocial needs of people on long-term medication and it could be a veritable tool to support adherence to antiretroviral therapy in People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). www.igi-global.com/chapter/theory-application-using-social-networking/72634?camid=4v1a P2P File Sharing: The Life and Death of Gnutella Danny Hughes and James Walkerdine (2008). Research paper thumbnail of Evaluation of the extent of involvement of community pharmacists in medicine inventory management practices in Delta State, Nigeria

Journal of Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences, 2019

The extent of involvement of community pharmacists in inventory management practices in Delta Sta... more The extent of involvement of community pharmacists in inventory management practices in Delta State was studied with a cross-sectional descriptive survey of 125 community pharmacists selected using simple random sampling method. Primary data were collected with the aid of a pretested semi-structured questionnaire. Sample size was determined using Taro Yamane’s formula for finite population. The questionnaire comprises three main sections in line with the study objective and was designed using simple statements on Likert-type scale with five alternative responses having weighting scores of 0-4. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics at 5% level of significance. The mean of weighted average (MWA) of respondents’ involvement in inventory management practices was computed to be 2.65. Community pharmacists’ extent of involvement in inventory management practices was sub-optimal. There is significant association with age (x2 =15.70, p = 0.000) and year o...

Objectives: The objectives of the study were to assess the adoption level and determine the availability of Minilab in pharmaceutical service delivery in selected tertiary hospitals in South-western Nigeria. Methods: Primary data were employed and study sample consisted of 91 pharmacists from eight of sixteen available hospitals. Instruments employed were a set of questionnaire and physical observation of Minilab. The questionnaire sought to elicit information on availability of Minilab and stages of Minilab's adoption on a scale of five alternative responses comprising knowledge, persuasion, decision, application and confirmation with weighting scores of 1 to 5. Level of adoption was computed as mean of weighted aver...
