The current study conducted to quantify the research contribution of Library and Information Scie... more The current study conducted to quantify the research contribution of Library and Information Science (LIS) women faculty of India between 1988 and 2018. The study prepared an inclusive list of Indian universities offering LIS education by visiting its official websites individually and collected the names and other details of the LIS women faculties engaged in the teaching profession. The bibliographical data were extracted from the Scopus database during the year 1988-2018. Finally, a total of 146 research articles published by 38 LIS women faculty in India. The core findings of this study were the majority of research works published in journal articles followed by review articles, conference papers, and book chapters respectively. It was also revealed that LIS women faculty of India tend to publish more in an international platform than a national one. Dual authorship found dominating among the LIS women faculty of India. COVID-19 virus originated from Wuhan city of China in December 2019. The emergence of COVID-19 th... more COVID-19 virus originated from Wuhan city of China in December 2019. The emergence of COVID-19 the whole world and severely affected by The United States, China, Brazil, and India etc.. World Health Organization (WHO) declared it as a pandemic in March 2020. Due to COVID-19, a large number of literature published in early 2020. However, very few studies address the impact of published related to literature Coronavirus. In response to the current study conducted and reviewed 20 years' period from 2001- May 2020. A total of 14439 documents were found in the Scopus database, which was published during the study period i.e. 2001- May 2020. The study found that The United States 9973 contributed the highest number of published literature on Coronavirus followed by China. Overall, the USA, China, Germany, The UK, Canada, South Korea accounted for most of the Coronavirus research activity at the global level. Globally, the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong ranked with first and second positions in terms of the number of publications contributed to individual institutes. The foremost focus of this paper is to examine the impact and use of social networking site (SNS)... more The foremost focus of this paper is to examine the impact and use of social networking site (SNS) Facebook among the students of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU). Facebook is a popular SNS where the young people are engage with each other. The present study gives an overview of use of Facebook, how they spent their time on Facebook by student of HPU, and what kinds of problem they face during the use of Facebook. A structured questionnaire has prepared and distributed to the students randomly. And finally received 179(89.50%) responses out of 200 distributed questionnaires. The major finding is that, 134 of the respondents said that use of Facebook is not a waste of time. Low internet speed is major issue to access the Facebook account with 123(68.70%) and Mobile is the poplar medium throgh which they acces Facebook with171(95.50%). Introduction:

The current study is to examine the sentiment analysis of twitter comments of ten university libraries. The ten of universities list was compiled from World university rankings 2019 (Time Higher Education Website). A total of 15850 number of tweets collected between 1st Jan 2013 and 1st September 2019 via Twitter Application Programming Interface (API) for further analysis. The study found overall av. Pos. av. Bibliometrics is an emerging area of research and it has been increasingly used in the field of l... more Bibliometrics is an emerging area of research and it has been increasingly used in the field of library and information science. This paper examines the research output of academic librarians in India. For this study, the data was exported from Google Scholar using Publish or Perish (POP) software. The study reviewed 36 Google Scholar profiles of academic librarians. A total 683 publications found during 1978-2018. Out of 683 publications, more than half of the 458 publications had no citations. The study also found that the growth of publications was not stable. Furthermore study indicated that, majority publications published in the form of journals articles and conference papers.

Mendeley offers readership statistic to publications and use these readership statistics to evalu... more Mendeley offers readership statistic to publications and use these readership statistics to evaluate research performance of an individual. The primary purpose of this paper is to investigate the Mendeley readership counts of Sambalpur University\u27s publications from 1971 to 2018. In this study; bibliographical data exported from Scopus using affiliations search tab and exported data between1971 to 2018. A total of 1553 records were found. The exported data converted into a text file and run in Webometric Analyst software and exported the Mendeley readership data from Mendeley website. A total 1399 record existed in the Mendeley database, in which 173 data have no readership found and further, 1226 publications data analyzed. The readership statistics of Sambalpur University have no impressive growth. Further study found that the yearly growth of Mendeley readership was not stable, and it fluctuated over time. There were positive 0.3303 correlations between Scopus citation and Mendeley readership of the published papers. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to the publication of many scientific papers. The ... more The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to the publication of many scientific papers. The goal of the present research was to analyse these papers using the Altmetric Attention Score (AAS). Statistics for 100 publications with high AAS scores were selected and exported from the Dimension database on May 22nd 2020. The major findings were that these publications were published in 34 different journals or preprint repositories. More than one-third of the total of 657, 350 posts were collected from the Twitter platform. The top contributing countries were China, followed by the USA. The paper “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2” by Andersen, Kristian G., etal., 2020 had the highest AAS (33 514. These findings may help others to design studies of the AAS in Covid-19 literature and compare them with traditional citations.

The main objectives of the study is to find out top authors in terms of publications, top cited authors, top G-Index, H-index authors, top cited papers etc. In the present study, we considered the only LIS faculties of Universities from North-East and East region in India, where LIS education offers. The data was collected from Google Scholar using Publish or Perish software. Furthermore, the study was considered only those faculties which were listed in the university website. The Study found the 32 LIS faculty and authors contributed 967 papers from 1980-2017. Out of 967 publications, majority of 452 publications found in the form of journal articles, followed 325 conference papers and 112 book chapters. It was further noticed that LIS faculty also published 29 Books and 13 theses and 1 abstract and presentation. Furthermore, the study found that most of the papers were published in conference in PLANNER 54 publications and CALIBER 44 publications and IASLIC Conference 17 publications. The study recommendation that, LIS faculties should concentrate on qualities of papers as 93% publications had no citations. During this study, it was found that very few faculties used Google Scholar IDs. It is recommendate that, to use Google Scholar, so that actual impact of research publications can be analyzed.
