Increasing road accident among youths refers to insufficient knowledge about traffic safety education which needs to be tracked through educational efficacy. Educational efficacy emphasized on Self-confidence, Safety-Knowledge and Self-monitoring in reducing the road accidents among the youths worldwide. The problem till date is ‘do driving schools emphasize on traffic safety education deeply through educational efficacy approaches before authorize the youths to drive while other research concluded that drinking alcohol, uses of mobile phone and so on causes the tremendous road accident globally. Educational efficacy is consistent with “Bandura’s efficacy theory” as to maximize traffic safety awareness and reducing youths’ traffic accident. Based on this framework, study explored the construct of Educational efficacy that examine the likelihood of underlying dimensions explaining the degree to which presence of variability and the reliability of the dimensions of Self-confidence, Safety-Knowledge and Self-monitoring efficacy in tracking traffic safety among the youths. Using a 30-item instrument developed for a descriptive inquiry, the present study analyzed 102 usable out of 272 planned instruments distributed for data collection among the youths of public higher institutions who has passed the driving schools assessment to arrive at the conclusions. The study applies statistical techniques of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cronbach’s alpha procedures in the analysis. The findings revealed that driving schools inculcating proper training for driving skill but lack of promoting traffic safety education among the youths during the classroom assessment. Thus, the results may serve as guides for future research in traffic safety management issues and to be an advance encouragement for driving schools.

Leadership Characteristics of Maldivian school leaders and their Leadership Self-efficacy. The study employed a
survey approach and the data were collected using an adapted seven point Likert scale survey questionnaire.
Data were collected from 23 schools in the capital city Male’, Republic of Maldives. A total of 200 school
leaders (45 males and 155 females) participated in the study. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics,
Pearson product-moment correlation and Structural Equation Modeling. The findings of the study revealed that
the school leaders in Male’ possessed all nine characteristics of strategic leadership. It also indicated that school
leaders’ in Male’ have quite a bit of control in their roles as school leaders, revealing a high perception level of
self-efficacy. Moreover, the results of the correlation analysis and examination of path analysis indicated that
there was statistically significant and positive relationship between Strategic Leadership Characteristics of
Maldivian school leaders and their Leadership Self-efficacy. The present study provides a starting-point for
further exploring the strategic leadership qualities and self-efficacy of school leaders which are vital to bring a
positive reform in schools. This study highlights that executing strategic leadership is essential to deal with both
the need for sustainable change. It further indicates that both self-efficacy and strategic leadership are important
to school leaders’ as they affect performance of the leaders through different mechanisms.

However, few studies have validated the instruments and examined the mediating effect between exogenous and endogenous variables of the student outcome model. This study, therefore, investigates the psychometric properties of four scales: two modified subscales of SERVQUAL: quality of teaching and learning and quality of classroom, qualified instructional leader and student outcome. It also investigates student outcome determinants and the role of teaching and learning and classroom quality in mediating the relationship between qualified instructional leaders and student outcomes. The study adopts a full-fledged structural equation modelling approach and analyses data collected through a total of 450 questionnaires distributed among undergraduates of a public university in Malaysia. The findings demonstrate that student outcomes and qualified instructional leader instruments comprise three dimensions, whereas teaching and learning and classroom quality instruments comprise a single dimension each and support the composite reliability, convergence and discriminant validity of the scales.
The results indicate that determinants of student outcome
predict learning student outcomes. The results also
demonstrate that teaching and learning quality strongly and positively mediates the relationship between qualified
instructional leaders and student outcomes, whereas
classroom quality positively but weakly mediates the
relationship. The theoretical and practical implications of
the study were also addressed.

The study also aims to test and
validate the psychometric properties of the quality culture and workforce performance instruments used in the study. Design/methodology/approach– A total of 267 academic staff from the International Islamic University Malaysia completed the survey questionnaires. A principal component analysis (PCA)
technique was performed to extract the underlying factors, followed by the application of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to test factorial validity of the constructs. Findings– The analysis yielded a nine-factor-indexed quality culture construct, while the workforce construct constituted two factors. The findings of the study postulate statistically significant correlation between quality culture and workforce performance. Practical implications– The findings of the study suggest that a quality culture initiative can be used effectively in the context of the Malaysian higher education sector to enhance academic staff performance. Originality/value– The results are important since there have been few published studies on quality culture that examine its effects on academic staff performance in the Malaysian higher education sector.

The study also investigates if teachers’ commitment (TC) mediates the relationship between DL and SE.
The study sampled three hundred and one (301) teachers. SPSS version (16.0) and Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) version (16.0) were used to analyze the data collected. The results indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between DL and SE (with standardized coefficient .68). In addition, TC influences SE (with standardized coefficient 0.38). Moreover, TC mediates the relationship between DL and SE (standardized coefficient 0.22). The implication of the study is that all stake holders; head teachers, zonal office staff, ministry officials among others are now better informed about the mediating role of TC on DL and SE. The results contributes to the existing body of knowledge in Nigeria. Very few studies investigate the relationship between DL and SE, in Katsina state in particular, and Nigeria in general.

The study distributed 750 questionnaires to the sampled respondents out of which 550 or 73% were returned. However, after excluding questionnaires with serious missing information 499 usable returned questionnaires were used for this study. The study used SPSS and AMOS (versions 16.0) to analyze the data collected. The findings indicate that school distributed leadership has considerable effect on teachers’ organizational commitment (standardized coefficient .39). The study also proved that teacher empowerment considerably mediates the relationship between distributed leadership and teachers’ commitment (standardized coefficient .26). As for the implications, the findings of this study bring to the fore the need for head teachers, zonal directors and other stakeholders to find more means of distributing leadership in secondary schools in order to enhance teachers’ commitment and empowerment. The study is one of the few studies conducted to investigate the influence and the relationship of distributed leadership on teachers’ organizational commitment and the mediating role of teachers’ empowerment on distributed leadership and teachers’ commitment, in Katsina state in particular and Nigeria in general.

implications of these findings for the current educational management and leadership practices in their
quest for Malaysian quality education.
Design/methodology/approach – The study selected 600 senior management team members from

wisdom, strategic intervention point and strategic competence which are pertinent for efficient and
effective leadership in realizing the objectives of the National Education Master Plan.

management team members of the respective schools, District and State Education Departments in
improving the quality of Malaysian education.
Originality/value – As this is the first research of its kind in Malaysia, the findings to a certain
