It examines Malaysia's historical solar energy initiatives in terms of R&D, deployments, and national policy during the previous two decades, all of which have affected PV installation in the country. The New Energy Metering system (NEM) policy, as well as a cost-benefit analysis of PV installations for Malaysian homes are addressed. A preliminary survey of public opinion was performed to better understand public perceptions of clean energy policies and advantages, as well as an evaluation of public willingness to join in the NEM policy by installing PV on their homes. The NEM policy will give a reasonable return on investment, according to the cost-benefit analysis. While PV solar energy has the potential to be a viable alternative, Malaysian families face a number of challenges, including high costs, a lack of physical and financial resources, a lack of expertise, and a lack of social support. According to the survey, the majority of respondents are ignorant of the government's clean energy subsidies and strategies, and are unable to participate in the NEM policy.

Most developing countries, including Malaysia, are facing lack of e-waste recycling
facilities and low household participation. Using a survey method using a questionnaire, this study aims to examine the intention of Malaysian households to drop-off their mobile phones to the nearest collection boxes (n = 600).
Design/methodology/approach – This study expanded the theory of planned behavior by adding environmental awareness and knowledge. In addition, the cost of disposal and the convenience of the available disposal infrastructure were measured as two parts of the perceived behavioral control.
Findings – The results of this study show that environmental knowledge and awareness have a significant impact on attitudes toward recycling intention of the households. In addition, it was also found that the attitude and cost of disposal infrastructure is positively related to household intention.
Originality/value – These results show that if e-waste collection boxes are provided to the nearest community and e-waste management information is distributed, this will increase household participation in e-waste management.

The results of NARDL confirm the asymmetric effect of RE and NRE consumption on the economic growth in the long run as well as the short run in Malaysia. The findings also show that in the long and short run, positive shocks of NRE are greater than the positive shocks of RE. It indicates that Malaysia's economic growth is highly dependent on NRE which is not a good indication as NRE consumption increases carbon dioxide (CO 2) emission in the country. Moreover, the empirical results of this study demonstrated that RE consumption reduction accelerates economic growth, whereas NRE consumption reduction decreases economic growth. It can have claimed that in Malaysia, RE is still more expensive than NRE. In conclusion, this study offered a variety of measures to develop RE to reduce the dependency on NRE consumption.
The paper aims to examine the association between information and communication technology (ICT),... more The paper aims to examine the association between information and communication technology (ICT), economic growth and population health based on health production model in Malaysia. This theoretical health production function is represented as follows: where the output is an individual health outcome, and the inputs are determinants of health, such as income, education, health care costs, medical facilities, the environment, and lifestyle. The development of information and communication technologies are represented as of mobile cellular subscriptions (per 100) and fixed telephone subscriptions (100) using time series data from 1993-2017 from the World Bank database. Using the bound testing technique of cointegration, this study finds that ICT affects population health significantly and positively in the long-and short-run. This is because ICT inclusion improves human health and longevity. Whereas, economic growth has no significant impact on the population"s health both in the short-and long-run. The findings indicate that a weak global economy affects Malaysia"s economic growth and reduces the health expenditure per capita. The results of this study suggest that policymakers must develop policies that improves public health by increasing health literacy, disseminating health information and facilitating medical facilities. This study also suggests that health care systems should to concentrate on digital inclusion.

JEL Classification: L11, G41. The intense competition among apparel retail outlets in Bangladesh are on the rise. Due to the increasing number of these outlets, young consumers tend to differentiate the apparel products by visiting stores and compare prices with other outlets and end up with impulse purchase. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between visual merchandising, price sensitivity and impulse purchase behavior among young apparel shoppers. For this purpose, the sample of 305 young shoppers in Bangladesh completed the questionnaire. Stimulus Organism and Response (SOR) model was employed. The data were analyzed by deploying partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). By applying two-step approach for instance, measurement model for indicator loadings, convergent validity, reliability and structural model for path analysis, the result signifies that both visual merchandising and price sensitivity positively and significantly affects shoppers' shopping enjoyment and impulse purchase behavior, which shoppers' shopping enjoyment positively affects impulse purchase behavior. Results also found that shopping enjoyment mediates the relationship between visual merchandising, price sensitivity and impulse purchase behavior. The findings are useful for retailers to understand the essence of impulse purchasing behavior and factors, such as visual merchandising and price sensitivity, which can have great impact on impulse purchase behaviors among consumers. Contribution/Originality: The study contributes in the existing literature by employing external stimulus and organism of SO -R model. Variables of this study are widely being exercised but limited to apparel product purchasing behavior in Bangladesh context.

This paper tries to assess the total industry related to marketing of product and final consumption. It also includes the demand and supply of chickens, eggs, chicks, feed mills, breeder farm, hatcheries etc. The marketing structure and systems are limited for medium and small size firm within whole sell and retail system. On the other hand, the marketing scope, procedure and strategy of big firms like CP Bd Co.. are very wide and broad. It is fact that the grass root level farmers of poultry are suffering from high risk specially when political instability exists in the country. They are also earning insufficient profits even most of the big companies sometimes are suffering losses due to the deadly threat from bird flu and this is why the stakeholders fear to invest further. However, as a densely populated and highly increasing population, the demand for meat of chicken and eggs are increasing to fulfill the demand of nutrition in Bangladesh. In addition, not only to fulfil the domestic demand, we will be able to export chicken and eggs which will increase the earnings of the country. Now it is seen that small-scale poultry production contributes a lot in the total industry. This study will be helpful for the new entrepreneurs and large, medium & small-scale poultry producers.

Each year the gap between the rich and poor is rising, and the circumstance has turned to be miserable in many countries. This paper investigates the impact of inflation on income inequality using data from the period of 1990 to 2015. The study uses econometric techniques on the time series data. All data are found to be stationary at first difference by using Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test. The results of Johannsen co-integration test confirm that there is a long-run positive significant relationship among the examined variables. The result shows that if inflation increases by 1%, income inequality increases by 4.99%. The result of the vector error correction model (VECM) shows that inequality requires approximately 0.35% of error correction per year and inflation requires 22.74% of error correction per year to reach equilibrium. The result of the impulse response function indicates that one standard deviation shock from inequality and inflation causes inequality to rise over time. When one standard deviation shock is given to inequality causes inflation to decline after 1.5 years then neutralized after 3.5 years where shock from inflation, inflation becomes negative after two years and neutralized after six years.

The purpose of this study is to identify the most important barriers to the Malaysian automotive industry. The data were collected by researching 145 companies in Malaysia's automotive supply chain industry. The data were examined using Problem Conflict Index (PCI) to determine the most important critical barriers that put automotive companies in a difficult position to implement green supply chain management (GSCM). The results of this study report that the number one barrier in the automotive sector is "market competition and uncertainty" with a PCI of 298. The second problem is "Lack of Implementing Green Practices" with the PCI of 297. Like these two barriers, cost implications, unawareness of customers, lack of corporate social responsibility, lack of globalization, lack of technical assistance from government have been identified as top-level barriers and lack of the government's willingness to invest, reduced involvement in environmentally related conferences are recognized as most important bottom level barriers. The elimination of these barriers will help to apply the GSCM in the Malaysian automobile industry.
The study was conducted at the Department of Economics, Asian University of Bangladesh, Dhaka Ban... more The study was conducted at the Department of Economics, Asian University of Bangladesh, Dhaka Bangladesh during June to December 2014. Livestock is an indigenous farming system in Bangladesh. Many changes have happened from 1982 to 1992 that means over 10 years number of cattle and buffaloes, sheep, goats and poultry increase about 20 lac, 121 lac and 374 lac respectively. In addition, from 2002 to 2012, in last 10 years, number of cattle and buffaloes, sheep and goats and poultry are increased about 4 lac, 28 lac and 9 lac respectively. However, we get a clear indication that livestock population increases in Bangladesh in decreasing rate over 20 years. Besides, if we consider annual growth rate, it is decreasing also over the year. It is a common demand from the society because Bangladeshis are non-vegetarian so there is a growing demand for meat domestically in Bangladesh. It will also help to alleviate poverty from Bangladesh through Livestock farming.

It is considered to be a major act of violation of child rights. The term 'labor' does not suit a 'child' by any means. By implication, the term child labor stands out as a gross contravention of human rights. Yet, it is a grim reality in the socioeconomic situation of Bangladesh. This study attempts to portray current scenario of rights of the child laborers, and their working place and family. The prime objectives of this study are to know the situation of child laborers, who are working at risk, and how these experiences and learning can contribute more effectively towards the future actions for a child labor free Bangladesh. The methodology of the study is based both on primary and secondary data. After collecting necessary data from secondary sources a sample survey was conducted to collect primary field data. Data was collected on the basis of the questionnaire, and the sample of the study was selected purposively. The significant findings of the study reveal that child laborer is highly exploitative in his/her working place as well as in his/her family. Finally this study suggests that the exploitation of child laborer will be banned by creating social awareness, by carrying out activities to improve the working condition, by establishing child rights and eradicating child labor by GO and NGO .
