The religious perspective posits that one of the strengths of patients is their spirituality, which is a springboard for dealing with their problems and obstacles (Sermabeikian, 1994). The spiritual perspective is complementary to the strengths perspective in which patients' personal and environmental resources are emphasized in the recovery process (Hodge, 2001).

Depending on the country, the approaches can be very different. Some are potentially problematic, such as those requiring the use of physical violence (even if the intention is to hurt the djinn and not the person), and making the patient drink liters of water in order to make him vomit (to evacuate the sorcery). But others can be rather interesting to observe like that of the Egyptian, Ibrahim Abdelalim.

At each evolution of his thought, the devil thus comes to represent the most obscure, the most irreconcilable with the self*. But it is in a diabolic neurosis in the 17th century that Freud makes the devil an avatar of the father the most clearly.

We used́ the google Forms platform to create the questionnaire, as well as social networks to disseminate it to our network and that of two French imams. We received one thousand one hundred and fourteen responses to this questionnaire.

We had the theory that the majority of Muslims believe in possession and occult evils, and that they consider that these would have an influence or could be the cause of mental disorders. And we hypothesized that the occult evil that affected the most people would be the evil eye.

Although this type of procedure seems to us to be counterproductive, even dangerous, we emphasize the fact that cases linked to the occult have been increasing exponentially for more than thirty years, whether in France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the Maghreb or in sub-Saharan countries.
