In this paper chromatic discrimination thresholds of normal colour-observers are analysed. Measur... more In this paper chromatic discrimination thresholds of normal colour-observers are analysed. Measurements were obtained with the Cambridge Colour Test, in different reference points. The results show differences in terms of the reference chromaticities. Reference points within the gamut of a CRT display were found where thresholds of normal colour observers measured towards the confusion points exceeded the normative upper threshold limit of normal colour observers. The discrimination thresholds estimated towards the confusion lines based on Trivector measurements exceeded the thresholds estimated by the Ellipse tests. Our results indicate that in case of determination of discrimination ellipses, measurements towards the confusion points are recommended.

Jelenleg a gyakorlatban alkalmazott módszerek – szembekötés, fekete tesztelőpohár, színszűrők, spektrálisan rögzített színes megvilágítások, színszűrős lencsék – hibákkal terheltek. A spektrálisan szabályozható érzékszervi maszkoló rendszer fejlesztése szükséges ahhoz, hogy tudományosan alátámasztott, objektív színinger-becslési környezet jöhessen létre. Munkánkban bemutattunk a spektrálisan szabályozható LED-rendszer megtervezésének lépéseit, valamint ennek elméleti és gyakorlati vonatkozásait. A spektrálisan szabályozható érzékszervi maszkoló-rendszer megépítésével különböző megvilágítási körülményeket lehet létrehozni, amelyek segítségével termékcsoport specifikusan lehet meghatározni a megfelelően elmaszkoló világítási környezetet

Abban az esetben, ha a minősítés alapja nem a vizuális értékelés, akkor célszerű olyan vizsgálati körülményeket biztosítani, ahol kizárható, hogy a termékek színingere nem befolyásolja a bírálók döntését [1]. Ebből következően szükség van a színinger-érzékelés intenzitásának vagy az érzékelés minőségének csökkentésére, de leginkább elfedésére, elmaszkolására. In this case the pupillary light reflex means changing of diameter of pupil due to constant light stimulus as a function of time. Determination of the diameter happens by means of image processing. Several diagnostic research consider pupillary light reflex. The paper presents an overview and the main results of the Erasmus+ project titled Interactive Co... more The paper presents an overview and the main results of the Erasmus+ project titled Interactive Course for Control Theory – ICCT. The project was started by four European Universities when they identified by a survey that students find Control Theory more challenging to understand compared to other subjects. The project’s main goal was to develop a platform, which would offer examples from the field of Control Theory in an interactive way – ICCT. Frequently asked questions (FAQ) and test exam questions were added as well. To support the course, an accompanying textbook was prepared. At this point, the course and the accompanying textbook are available in English and the languages of the partner universities; since both of them are publicly available, we assume they will be offered in other languages in future. The benefits of implementing our interactive course are already visible in better survey results and improved grades in Control Theory-related subjects.

Chromatic discrimination thresholds were measured in relation with systematically manipulated chromaticities seen under different visual angles. In both cases the Ellipse module of the Cambridge Colour Test (CCT) was obtained binocularly by normal colour-observers. Discrimination ellipses fitted to the measured thresholds were compared in terms of the adapting chromaticity and the visual angle of the adapting stimulus. Our findings show that changes in the reference chromaticity of the CCT have stronger effect on the elongation of the chromatic discrimination ellipses compared to the effect of the adapting chromaticity obtained in a light booth.Further comparison of discrimination thresholds estimated towards the confusion directions and the corresponding radii of the Ellipse test results suggests that the reliability of the Ellipse test results depends on the relation bet...

The system built up from perspectives based on the number of the vanishing points is finished with the sixth one, in case that the vanishing points are both ideal points of each of the 3 axes of a cartesian coordinate system. Thereby besides the origin of the above mentioned cartesian coordinate system, the whole space can be represented on one image. Processing and displaying the data of a scene helps to learn visualising the world in the new system compared to the traditional perspectives, and also shows further directions for technical development.

Beer color is an important sensory attribute, the first one that the consumer observes. There are... more Beer color is an important sensory attribute, the first one that the consumer observes. There are two standard methods accepted for determining the color of these products, one related to the European Brewery Convention (EBC) and the other is the Standard Reference Method (SRM). Both methods are based on absorbance, but in case of the more and more popular fruit beers these methods give false result since these products appear in varied colors and have different spectra than regular beers. In this study 39 different types of beers were investigated, including fruit beers and beer based mixed drinks to compare their color in CIE 1976 L*a*b* color space, absorption-based colors and transmission spectra. ΔE*ab values of products with less than 5% EBC difference ranged from 4.5 to 17.4. There were magnitude differences in the transmission spectra of these products, fruit beers showed different tendencies due to the added fruit or fruit juice. Therefore there are strict requirements for the preparation of these samples, however the storage requirements are not regulated by any standard. During our research we determined how the different storage temperatures affect the colors of these samples over time. To determine this, we measured the samples’ spectral transmission and spectral reflection properties and we investigated our datas as points in CIE 1976 L*a*b* color systems. Based on the comparison of these points we made suggestions about the storage of the samples. Comparing just-noticeable stimuli of normal colour observers under two types of chromatic adaptation conditions with equal chromaticity and luminance but with different spectral content and field of view shows the importance of paying attention to illumination parameters that define the actual state of chromatic adaptation.

The contrast sensitivity of normal and anomalous trichromats were examined with Landolt-C figures... more The contrast sensitivity of normal and anomalous trichromats were examined with Landolt-C figures by eye-tracking system. For the measurements, two series of test images (achromatic and colored) were designed. The difficulty levels of the tests were gradually increased after each right answer. In the case of the observation of the ring of the Landolt-C figures, the variables related to fixation duration, fixation count, visit duration and count significantly affected this subject, success or image parameters, and their interactions. Therefore there are strict requirements for the preparation of these samples, however the storage requirements are not regulated by any standard. During our research we determined how the different storage temperatures affect the colors of these samples over time. To determine this, we measured the samples’ spectral transmission and spectral reflection properties and we investigated our datas as points in CIE 1976 L*a*b* color systems. Based on the comparison of these points we made suggestions about the storage of the samples. Comparing just-noticeable stimuli of normal colour observers under two types of chromatic adaptation conditions with equal chromaticity and luminance but with different spectral content and field of view shows the importance of paying attention to illumination parameters that define the actual state of chromatic adaptation.

For the measurements, two series of test images (achromatic and colored) were designed. The difficulty levels of the tests were gradually increased after each right answer. In the case of the observation of the ring of the Landolt-C figures, the variables related to fixation duration, fixation count, visit duration and count significantly affected this subject, success or image parameters, and their interactions.
