Події, що пов'язані з воєнною агресією проти України, мали істотний вплив на умови роботи міських очисних споруд водовідведення м. Харків. Через скорочення чисельності населення міста та зменшення його промислового потенціалу суттєвих змін зазнали кількісні та якісні показники стічних вод, що надходили на міські очисні споруди водовідведення № 1 і № 2-комплекси біологічного очищення «Диканівський» (МОСВ-1) та «Безлюдівський» (МОСВ-2). Добові навантаження за забрудненнями стічних вод на очисні споруди у період з березня 2022 року по березень 2023 року включно зменшилися майже удвічі порівняно з довоєнним часом. Фактичні добові витрати стічних вод становили: на МОСВ-1-216,8 тис. м³/добу (або 54,2% від розрахункової пропускної спроможності згідно з Проєктом реконструкції очисних споруд та лінії з обробки осаду); на МОСВ-2-69,0 тис. м³/добу (або відповідно 43,2%). Фактичні добові навантаження за забрудненнями стічних вод під час воєнного стану

The possibility of increasing the efficiency of municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) opera... more The possibility of increasing the efficiency of municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operation by changing the flow diagram of biological wastewater treatment in aeration tanks at minimum expenses for their reconstruction is shown in the paper on the example of one of the regional centres of Ukraine. The technology of nitri-denitrification of wastewater according to the flow diagram of the two-stage modified Ludzak-Ettinger process is offered for the considered conditions. The distribution of wastewater flows and internal nitrate recycling between the individual stages of this flow diagram has been optimized in order to minimize the residual content of total nitrogen in the treated effluents. Computer dynamic modelling of biochemical processes has proved the high efficiency and reliability of the flow diagram proposed by the authors.

The events related to the military aggression against Ukraine had a significant impact on the ope... more The events related to the military aggression against Ukraine had a significant impact on the operation conditions of the municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWWTPs) of Kharkiv city. The quantitative and qualitative indicators of influent wastewater of municipal wastewater treatment plants #1 and #2 - the biological treatment complexes "Dykanivskyi" (MWWTP-1) and "Bezlyudivskyi" (MWWTP-2) significantly had changed because of reduction of the city's population and the reduction of its industrial potential. The daily wastewater pollution loads on wastewater treatment plants in the period from March 2022 to March 2023 had decreased by almost half compared to pre-war times. PECULIARITIES OF THE NEW METHOD OF CALCULATING THE DESIGN HEAT LOAD OF BUILDING’S HEATING SYSTEMS ACCORDING TO DSTU EN 12831-1:2017

The comparative analysis of the method for calculating the design heat load of building's heating system according to EN 12831 edited in 2006 and 2017 has been performed. The new standard edited in 2017 differs significantly from the previous standard edited in 2006. Especially significant changes have undergone the method of calculating the ventilation heat losses, becoming more accurate, flexible approach to determine the temperature in adjacent apartments,
affecting the heat loss values "to the neighbor" and etc. The new standard provides an opportunity to define the design external temperature more precisely and also taking into account internal and external heat gains calculating the heat load, but the methodology of its development should be determined at the national level. The main tasks of widespread introduction of the new standard DSTU EN 12831-1: 2017 into the practice of designing heating systems for buildings in Ukraine have been identified.

This makes it necessary for residents to install apartment heaters for hot water supply.The shortcomings of the traditional systems of centralized heating and hot water supply were aggravated in the conditions of intense hostilities and systematic enemy shelling of the infrastructure of populated areas. The National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE) from Rivne (Ukraine) is im... more The National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (NUWEE) from Rivne (Ukraine) is implementing a program of energy efficiency on its own educational, residential and auxiliary buildings. The measures were implemented according to the following program: installation of 15 automated heat energy metering units; construction of a solid fuel boiler house; partial thermo-modernization of buildings; introduction of decentralized ventilation systems with recuperation; use of renewable energy sources; training and certification of specialists in energy efficiency of buildings and inspection of engineering systems; and provision of an energy audit. All this requires significant financial and material resources. Therefore, NUWEE participates in a number of grant and credit projects, and attempts to raise funds based on energy service contracts.
