Chairman of the South-Russian educational-methodical association in journalism. Full member of the Academy of Sciences of the regional press of Russia, corresponding member of the Peter the Great Academy of Sciences and Arts. The author of ten monographs, three textbooks on the history and theory of journalism and more than 200 scientific articles. This scientific review is devoted to his multifaceted research in the field of history and theory of journalism. It includes a review of the methodology of retrospective studies, the concepts of periodization, the application of the systems approach, the principles of historicism and typological methods in the analysis of historical trends and metamorphoses that occurred in Russian journalism during the most difficult period of its operation. The formation of the system of periodicals in two similar and dissimilar polyethnic regions in th... more The formation of the system of periodicals in two similar and dissimilar polyethnic regions in the south of Russia – Kalmykia and Stavropol – developed according to the same scheme, but had significant nuances. The Stavropol press, aimed at the Russian majority in the region, appeared earlier (in 1850) and was typologically more diverse and numerous until the 1920s, while the publications created for the Kalmyks were for a long time isolated projects: The Russian-Kalmyk Calendar (1911-1918), a newspaper in the Kalmyk language «Oordin ziang» (1917-1918), leaflets and the first bilingual newspaper «Red Kalmyk» (1919-1920). A new stage in the development of journalism in the regions begins with the establishment of Soviet power after the end of the civil war. The work of the press is under the control of the ruling party, and the unification of the system of regional and local periodicals begins. This article focuses on the possible ways of mainstreaming social issues in newspaper. Methods of... more This article focuses on the possible ways of mainstreaming social issues in newspaper. Methods of the actualization of social problems grouped by authors in two big groups: some are in area of responsibility of the editorial board, others of responsibility of journalists. The first group consists such methods as the inclusion of the various social issues in the information plan of the media, the choice of newsbreak for their lighting, location and size of materials on social problems, the rubrics used, the presence of the visualization, a variety of the author´s composition. Journalistic methods of the actualization of social problems lie on selection of genres, bright titles, usage of personalization and existence of authors evaluation in publications, statistical data, expert assessments, etc. In the article it is shown that the choice of those or other methods of actualization the social problems is an indicator of their importance for the editors and journalists.

Установлено, что он выработал определенные принципы отражения театральных событий, позволяющие создавать многогранную их картину. Выявлено, что театральная журналистика молодого автора реализовывалась в основном в жанре театральных рецензий, реже - в жанре анонса, корреспонденции, обзора, некролога

На широком эпистолярном материале анализируется редакторская деятельность выдающегося немецкого писателя Генриха фон Клейста, история его взаимоотношений с прусскими властями и цензурой. Представлены результаты исследования типологической специфики и контента издаваемой им региональной ежедневной газеты «Berliner Abendblаеtter». Делается вывод о ее принадлежности «издательско-редакторским газетам»
The article presents the changes in an information politics of the political newspaper in the Rus... more The article presents the changes in an information politics of the political newspaper in the Russian province in connection with revolutionary and military events in early XX century when editions of this type became agents of public opinion formation concerning actual political questions. Such special-purpose designation has caused specificity of an information picture of the world, the choice of genres, changes of internal structure of editions.
